Team NP drops out of DreamLeague Season 6 – forfeiting their remaining games. Due to heavy scheduling of tournaments and qualifiers, the team has decided to withdraw from the competition. Team NP was one of three teams to replace OG, EG and Team Secret in the exodus from the event following Valve’s announcement of the Boston Major dates in early December. The team will not be replaced this late into the schedule and seven teams will continue to compete for the four playoff spots at DreamHack Winter – November 25 -26th in Jönköping, Sweden.

Team NP joins the considerably lengthy list of teams that have withdrawn from DreamLeague Season 6 since the announcement of the event.
Just over one week after the announcement of teams joining for this season, OG, EG and Team Secret pulled out of participating in DreamLeague Season 6 due to proximity of the LAN finals to Boston Major. Team NP, Imperial and Virtus.Pro stepped in quickly to fill the gap merely days before the first day of league play.
Only days ago Na’Vi unexpectedly withdrew from the event, following their sub-par performance in the Boston Major regional qualifiers and amid imminent roster changes. Ad Finem replaced the CIS squad, assuming their 1:1 record for the season.
Team NP have now withdrawn with only a handful of matches left – citing an overpacked schedule that was not accounted for prior. The North American team have since qualified for the Boston Major, for the Summit 6 and replaced Digital Chaos in Northern Arena BEAT Invitational.
In a post by Jacky “Eternal Envy” Mao, the captain reported
At this point it would simply be too stressful to fit the remaining two bo2 into our schedule while preparing for the later stages of 3 other tournaments. At this point we made the decision to just FF the remaining two matches.
The team will not be replaced this late into schedule and Team NP’s record turns to 0:14.
Virtus.Pro, Imperial, Alliance, Team Liquid, Vega Squadron, Escape Gaming and Ad Finem are left squaring off for one of the four spots available in the playoffs at DreamHack Winter – November 25 -26th in Jönköping, Sweden.
This season’s total prize pool is $231,000 distributed over the season and at the playoffs. Season 6 will feature eight teams battling it out for one of four spots in the playoffs at DreamHack Winter – November 25 -26th in Jönköping, Sweden.
