Nanyang Cruise Cup qualifiers have come to an end with Invictus Gaming and Invictus Gaming.Vitality claiming the two spots left aboard the first Dota 2 event on the open sea. Wings Gaming and Newbee have already accepted their direct invite for the event. The four teams will compete for the ¥ 300,000 (~approximately $44,966) prize pool on the Sapphire Princess Cruise Ship October 13-17th.

Nanyang Cruise Cup qualifiers have granted Invictus Gaming and Invictus Gaming.Vitality a boarding pass to the Sapphire Princess Cruise Ship.

Eighteen Chinese teams participated in the Chinese qualifiers. Invictus Gaming.Vitality was one of two teams to be invited directly into the playoffs. Invictus Gaming cruised through the group stage with a perfect 3:0 record and earned their place in the playoffs.

The Chinese team sank LGD.ForeverYoung and EHOME while Invictus Gaming.Vitality easily navigated through Vici Gaming and Newbee Young.

Nanyang Cruise Cup first made headlines as the first Dota 2 tournament to be held on the open waters on board of a cruise ship.

Set to sail October 13-17th, Wings Gaming, Newbee and both teams from Invictus Gaming will compete for the ¥ 300,000 (~approximately $44,966) prize pool.

  • 1st place – ¥ 150,000 (~approximately $22,483)
  • 2nd place – ¥ 80,000 (~approximately $11,990)
  • 3rd place – ¥ 50,000 (~approximately $7,494)
  • 4th place – ¥ 20,000 (~approximately $2,997)

Newbee win Nanyang Championships season 2

Nanyang Championships season 2 finals came to a dramatic end in July 2016 when Newbee outplayed and outlasted Wings Gaming 3:2 in the best-of-five grand finals.

The base prize pool for this tournament was $200,000. An additional 25% of all tickets sales was added to the total prize pool.
The final prize pool is $200,971.

  • 1st place: $100,000 + 12% ticket sales – Newbee
  • 2nd place: $50,000 + 6% ticket sales – Wings Gaming
  • 3rd place: $25,000 + 3% ticket sales – LGD Gaming
  • 4th place: $10,000 + 2% ticket sales – CDEC.Youth
  • 5-6th place: $7,500 + 1% ticket sales –Digital Chaos/ViCi Gaming.Reborn
  • 7-8th place: –Team Empire/WG.Unity
