Nanyang Cruise Cup champions – Wings Gaming are the captains of the high seas. The TI6 championship team took hold of their first title and trophy of the new season, heading into the Boston Major. Wings bested Newbee 2:1 in the Grand Finals as they prepare for their next challenge in just a few weeks at Northern Arena’s BEAT Invitational Nov. 11-13 in Montreal, Canada.
Nanyang Cruise Cup champions were crowned today – with Wings Gaming emerging as victors of the high seas. The TI6 championship team defeated the TI4 championship team – Newbee 2:1 in the Grand Finals.
In a very short, condensed single elimination format Wings Gaming crushed Invictus Gaming 2:0. Newbee easily triumphed over Invictus Gaming.Vitality in a 2:0 sweep.
The two qualified teams from the Invictus Gaming club went head to head in the lower brackets to determine third place winner. After a decisive third game, it was the primary squad – featuring Xu “BurNIng” Zhilei that took the bronze.
Wings Gaming will start to prepare for an extended trip to North America. They will compete in Northern Arena’s BEAT Invitational Nov. 11-13 in Montreal, Canada and then down to Los Angeles, California for The Summit 6 Nov. 16-20. The Boston Major is scheduled for December 7-10, with Wings Gaming being one of the favorites for a direct invite.

Nanyang Cruise Cup first made headlines as the first Dota 2 tournament to be held on the open waters on board of a cruise ship.
Only four teams had the privilege of competing in this historic moment and for the ¥ 300,000 (~approximately $44,966) prize pool.
Newbee and Wings Gaming received a direct invitation while Invictus Gaming and Invictus Gaming.Vitality cruised through the Nanyang Cruise Cup qualifiers to receive their boarding pass for the Sapphire Princess Cruise Ship.

The total prize pool will be ¥ 300,000 (~approximately $44,966)
- 1st place – ¥ 150,000 (~approximately $22,483) – Wings Gaming
- 2nd place – ¥ 80,000 (~approximately $11,990) – Newbee
- 3rd place – ¥ 50,000 (~approximately $7,494) – Invictus Gaming
- 4th place – ¥ 20,000 (~approximately $2,997) – Invictus Gaming.Vitality

Wings Gaming did not make any changes heading into the Fall Major 2016 season. The TI6 championship team had decided to keep their roster intact.
From unknowns to infamous in the course of one year, the Chinese stars soared above the rest to bring a tale of comradery, innovation and passion to the stage.
Formed in August 2015, the Chinese then team made a clean sweep over Team Liquid, 3:0, in the Grand Finals of ESL One Manila. They walked with their first championship title as a team and the $100,000 first place prize.
The team was directly invited to the Manila Major where they had a disappointing finish taking 13-16th place. Their next premier LAN event – Nanyang Dota 2 Championships Season 2 brought back to the forefront the infamous drafting and strategies that Wings became known for and an astounding second place finish.
They then amazed fans around the world once again when they outplayed OG 3:1 in the grand finals of The Summit 5 for the trophy and title.
Their greatest accomplishment being TI6.
By upsetting the TI5 champions – Evil Geniuses and sending them to the lower brackets, Wings Gaming had become the first team to advance to the Grand Finals and secure themselves a top two finish overall. They overpowered Digital Chaos 3:1 for a spectacular finish and crowning achievement.
