MDL 2016; First glimpse of OG, MVP.Phoenix, EG, Secret, Newbee, VG

MDL 2016 will be the first LAN post TI6 featuring eight of the biggest teams. OG, Evil Geniuses, MVP.Phoenix and Team Secret have been directly invited to compete and debut their new lineups. Newbee and ViCi Gaming will be on hand, having qualified earlier in the year. Two more Chinese teams are yet to be determined, still locking horns in the qualifiers. The teams will be competing for $250,000 prize pool at the Xiamen International Conference & Exhibition Center in Xiamen, China between September 28- October 2.

MDL 2016 will be the first international LAN event of the new season, following TI6. Eight teams from around the world will be competing for the $250,000 prize pool in Xiamen, China between September 28 – October 2.

With the rosters for the Fall Major 2016 season just becoming locked into place only days ago, big contenders in the international scene will be making their roster debuts.

OG, Evil Geniuses, MVP.Phoenix and Team Secret will be making their first appearance at a LAN as direct invites. All four teams have made significant changes in their lineups since August’s post TI shuffle.

Newbee and ViCi Gaming qualified earlier in the year during Dota 2 Professional League (DPL) for their spots. Both teams have also undergone dramatic roster changes since then.

With the Fall Major 2016 direct and regional invites still yet to be determined, all teams will be bringing their A game in hopes to secure the coveted place at the year’s first major.

• Double-elimination format
• Top two teams advance to the Main Event

• playoffs set as best-of-three double elimination brackets
• Grand Finals best-of-five

MDL Winter 2015

The MDL Winter 2015 Grand Finals ended with a 3:0 sweep over Evil Geniuses, giving EHOME their third consecutive major championship title. EHOME had secured the first championship title at a an international LAN for a Chinese team since Starladder 12, in April 2015.
