Manila Major Group stage results day 1 are in and groups A and B have been played out to the finish. Newbee and Na’Vi have both gone through the stage undefeated and will start the playoffs in the upper brackets. OG and Digital Chaos will also begin in the upper brackets, leaving compLexity Gaming, Team Empire, Team Secret and Wings Gaming to start out in the brutal best-of-one lower bracket elimination matches. The action resumes tomorrow at 04:00 CEST with group C and D opening matches.

The Manila Major Group stage results have left many viewers yearning for more and catching the Manila fever after one day of competition.

Once again Newbee is looking unstoppable as they didn’t drop a single match in the group stage phase. Clearing the stage with a 4:0 result, they will begin in the upper brackets for the playoffs. Team work, precision and well executed strategies are prominent in their matches.

Similarly, Na’Vi is completely on fire with incredible team work and plays with a 4:0 sweep in their group. Their performances can be summed up in a highlight of one of the matches when it came down to a TP into enemy base for an epic finish in 1.5 hour long game. Thrilling, exciting and intense, Na’Vi has reignited their flame.

compLexity Gaming didn’t take a single win in their group stage and will start in the lower brackets. Their result was surprising to many as the North American team had been improving at each LAN event over the last few months.

Team Secret struggled, grabbing only one win in the series against Wings Gaming. Their communication and coordination continues to seem to be a weakness that contributes to their sub standard results with this new roster.

Digital Chaos‘ LAN debut has been nothing less than spectacular. The newly reformed team appear to be in top form and with tight synergy that enables them to be on top in positioning and to execute their strategies smoothly.

Team Empire, Wings Gaming and OG have all shown remarkable prowess and prime-cut proficiency.

Manila Major Group stage: OG vs TEAM EMPIRE

EPICENTER Moscow playoffs results

OG at EPICENTER Moscow

The first match featured a KOTL pick for OG which seemingly was instrumental in the laning phase and throughout. Amer “Miracle-“ al-Barqawi’s game on LifeStealer was top notch with a 10:1:3 result and falling only slightly behind Roman “Ramzes” Kushnarev’s Anti-Mage. David “MoonMeander” Tan’s Clockwork hooks were on point and the European mix steadily furthered their lead as the game progressed, securing them an easy victory.

The second match featured Roman “Scandal” Sadotenkov on Shadow Fiend but OG did well to shut down Team Empire’s heroes pretty early on, snatching the slight lead the CIS team had in the early game. With Miracle- on Juggernaut, topping the net worth with a significant lead, OG were able to take and maintain the lead and control for the remainder of the game.

Dota 2Nanyang Championships s2 LAN

Hao at EPICENTER Moscow LAN

The first match of this series was a complete blowout by Newbee over compLexity Gaming. In only 21 minutes the Chinese team secured their victory 28:2. Chen “Hao” Zhihao’s Weaver was spectacular along with perfect games by Damien “kpii” Chok on Faceless Void and Zhang “Mu” Pan’s Batrider. compLexity had no chance, despite taking first blood and having a stronger laning phase.

The second game wasn’t much better for compLexity as they once again were shellacked by Newbee. After Wong “ChuaN” Hock Chuan’s beloved Enchantress secured the first two kills, Newbee went on to take four towers before compLexity could take one.

Dota 2 Digital Chaos Summit 5 NA qualifiers

Resolut1on Digital Chaos

In the first game Martin “Saksa” Sazdov’s Winter Wyvern was on point and overall Digital Chaos’ team fights and coordination was fantastic. Roman “Resolut1on” Fominok’s LifeStealer was not only flawless but incredibly strong and poignant with a 15:0:8 score.

In the second match Digital Chaos took an Alchemist for Aliwi “w33” Omaras their last pick. Impeccable performances by Chu “Shadow” Zeyu on Weaver and Zhou “bLink” Yang on his Dragon Knight would lead Wings Gaming to victory and tie up the series with an overwhelmingly convincing win in just under 30 minutes.

The deciding third match would end in favor of Digital Chaos was a roller coaster of emotions and an intense, closely matched game that lasted just under one hour. In the end it was Digital Chaos that would secure the victory with a 26:26 score at 56 minutes in on the backs of Resolut1on’s Gyrcopter and W33’s Puck.

Great start to the event for @DIGITALCHAOSgg with @Resolut1on_ going 15-0-8 KDA on Lifestealer over wings!

Manila Major Group stage: TEAM SECRET vs NATUS VINCERE

Dota 2DreamLeague Season 5 offline playoffs

Na’Vi at SL iLeague Dota 2 Invitational playoffs courtesy of StarLadder Flickr

First blood of the opening match went to Team Secret as rotations came in mid to take out Danil “Dendi” Ishutin. Overall Na’Vi’s game was executed smoothly focusing on great teamwork and the CIS team appeared to be in great form as Na’Vi forced them to play at their pace – to fight early game instead of Secret trying to force the split push. Na’Vi were able to take the first match

The second match featured Artour “Arteezy” Babaev on Kunkka – the last time he played the hero in an official was when he was on Kaipi years ago. Na’Vi went with a Drow strat and Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev on Io. The game was fairly even and back and forth for the first 30 minutes but Dendi closed out the second game with a Rampage and CIS team swept through the European mix.

Manila Major Group stage Group A winners: Newbee vs OG

Dota 2 Newbee EPICENTER Moscow LAN playoffs

Newbee at EPICENTER Moscow

The first match of the series highlighted how scary Newbee has become. With perfect games by Mu on Dragon Knight and Kpii on Void, the Chinese team had no problems destroying OG despite Miracle- playing on Lifestealer and Io floating around.

Once the laning stage was complete in the second game, Newbee seized the game away from the European team and convincingly cruised to their victory in 28 minutes. With a fantastic games by Hao on Slark and by Hu “Kaka” Liangzhi on Beast Master, Newbee seemed to be unstoppable.

Including the qualifiers, @NewbeeCN are now 20-0 in #ManilaMajor matches, with an otherworldly 8.5 team KA:D

Na’Vi took the first match by storm in only 24 minutes with another round of incredible team work and plays. At the Digital Chaos base, Dendi stunned two heroes with his Spiked Carapace, quickly blinked into the base then cast Impale to keep the NA based team at bay while the rest of Na`Vi stormed the barracks.

The second match was incredibly exciting and took a whopping 91 minutes to finish. In a very even matched competition, both teams had great positioning, rotations and team coordination. With a cheeky buyback and immediate refresher purchase by Dendi, a TP into enemy base and an incredible finish, Na’Vi secured the victory without losing a single match in the group stage.

Manila Major Group stage Group A Elimination series: Team Empire vs compLexity Gaming

Team Empire ESL One Manila

Team Empire ESL One Manila

Team Empire snatched the first match of the elimination series that would knock one team to the lower brackets. In an incredible comeback, after losing the lead in the early game, Team Empire regained control with a powerful momentum. Ramzes666’s flawless game on Lone Druid and Scandal’s incredible performance on Death Prophet were significant in crushing the opponents.

The second match was relatively even for the first 26 minutes even both teams having with slight advantages at various points. After an incredible team fight in favor of Team Empire, they were able to take a firm grasp over the NA based team and control the game. Ramzes666 continues to shine and with Team Empire securing the first three slots in hero net-worth, it was quite difficult for compLexity to turn the tides and overcome the CIS team.

Manila Major Group stage Group B Elimination series: Wings vs Team Secret

Dota 2 Wings Gaming during Manila Major Group stage

Wings Gaming during Manila Major Group stage

The first match of the series Wings Gaming skipped their last ban. Then first blood was made by a level 2 Bash by Zhang “Faith_bian” Ruida on Slardar. 12 minutes into the game Wings Gaming secured a full team wipe and continued to just destroy Team Secret from there on. Wings Gaming crushed the European team.

The second game saw Team Secret seemed to come back to life and secured more kills than they had in their previous games combined. Team Secret dominated the match from the start with fantastic games by Jacky “Eternal Envy” Mao on Sven and Arteezy on Death Prophet. The mobility, vision and damage coming out from the Europeans was too much for Wings, despite a good effort. Team Secret’s victory forced a third game.

The third game saw Wings draft a Drow as the first pick and went with the Drow-Io combo that has been effective and popular lately. The strategy proved to be effective for them once again. Despite a lot of small mistakes after almost 40 minutes of play the Chinese team was able to knock Team Secret down to the lower brackets.

Manila Major Group stage Group A Decider series: OG vs Team Empire

Dota 2 Miracle- during Manila Major Group Stage

Miracle- during Manila Major Group Stage

The first game of the series was back and forth, taking 52 minutes to determine the winner. Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov blackhole caught four of OG’s heroes to help secure their lead in the early mid game but OG were able to regain the momentum eight minutes later. The swings in lead and momentum continued until about 50 minutes in when Team Empire took the lead once again and quickly finished the match.

The second match was a much quicker game, ending in 24 minutes in favor of OG. Again, a back and forth start would highlight how well both teams had done in positioning and coordination. OG were able to edge out the CIS team about 17 minutes in after an incredible fight at the Roshan Pit. The European victory forced a deciding third game.

The last game of the series was the one sided match of the series. The European team took the victory in only 21 minutes with a 19:7 score. An incredible performance by Miracle- on Huskar and flawless game by Johan “BigDaddy” Sundstein on Dragon Knight helped to shut down the CIS team early and throughout.

Manila Major Group stage Group B Decider series: Digital Chaos vs Wings Gaming

Misery of Digital Chaos at Manila Major

Digital Chaos crushed Wings Gaming in the first match. In just under 30 minutes DC overpowered the Chinese team 23:9 on the backs of Reolut1on’s flawless Life Stealer and w33’s fantastic Death Prophet.

The second match of the series Wings Gaming came out with a Lycan first pick and Digital Chaos went with four cores. Even in the early game Digital Chaos did well with their cores since Wings didn’t seem to have a way to punish them. They took hold of the lead and forced the tempo and pace. Although Wings had some beautiful combos, Digital Chaos continued to outclass the Chinese with individual and team plays.
