LGD.FY Boston Major roster will now look slightly different as they gained approval for not one, but two substitute players. Liang “DDC” Faming and Yang “Zyf/End” Pu will be stepping in for Du “Monet” Peng and Luo “Lpc” Puchao – both of whom have been denied a second time for their visas. In this case, Valve has made an exception to allow both players to join the roster instead of replacing the entire team.
LGD.FY have revealed that the team will be utilizing two stand in’s for Boston Major – Liang “DDC” Faming and Yang “Zyf/End” Pu. They will be replacing the two newcomers – Du “Monet” Peng and Luo “Lpc” Puchao.
Monet is the young 17 year old that has joined the mostly veteran squad while Lpc just doesn’t seem to have the experience or ties back to China heavily weighed for an approval for the visa.
Xie “Super” Junhao, Yao “Yao” Zhengzheng and Zhang “xiao8” Ning have previously been to Internationals held in the US.
Although Lu “Maybe” Yao is their official substitute registered on the Pro Team Roster registration list and currently plays for LGD Gaming – it seems that he will not be one of the two designated replacements for the team. In all likelihood this could be due to the fact that LGD Gaming is rumored to be slotted as the replacement team for IG.Vitality, also having visa woes for their entire team.
When LGD.FY first encountered trouble they immediately contacted Valve more than a week ago.
the players responded well, but most visa officers on duty were female who don’t have much knowledge about Dota 2 and Major Championships, the age and education background of the players can be somewhat troublesome as well. LGD is contacting all sides including Valve for materials and help to get through the second interview. Bless!

It now seems that Valve has been responsive and accommodating for the team under such stressful circumstances – allowing two substitutes instead of the one stated explicitly in their substitute rules.
DDC and Zyf/End are both are part of ViCi Gaming currently and have both attended TI6 – DDC has attended every Valve event starting with TI1 as part of Invictus Gaming.
Moving forward, LGD Gaming has also reported that they will continue to have the players do a third attempt for their visas – expected on November 28th, despite the tight turnaround schedule. They will also book trips for the two players to travel abroad to Europe/Japan so that they will have more travel history and overall easier experience for future visa applications.
