Gamers Lounge of Egypt brings back their Winter Cup series for its third iteration – GLWC III (Gamers Lounge WinterCup III). As the only official Dota 2 tournament in the country, locals are encouraged to participate. Registration is currently open and closes on March 5th. The LAN finals will be held in the Theater of Ministry and Youth as teams compete for a piece of the 25000 EGP (~$1,600) prize pool.
Gamers Lounge, the first official esports organization in Egypt, will be hosting GLWC III (Gamers Lounge WinterCup III) beginning with next month.
The event, which is sponsored by Lenovo Egypt, is also endorsed and approved by the EFEG (Electronic Federation Of Electronic Games).
As an esports entity in the middle-east, where the number of players in the scene is huge but there is no one helping players and teams grow, we feel obligated to aid in the growing of the scene – by not just organizing tournaments, but providing help and support to players and teams. Gamers Lounge WinterCup is not just a tournament, it’s an annual gaming event that players wait for all year long to attend and witness the final battle. Our goal is to change the concept of competitive gaming in the middle-east where esports is treated as an actual sport and prepare teams to compete internationally.
Registration for the event is now open and locals can register until March 5th. The LAN finals will be held at the Theater of Ministry and Youth on April 8th.
The entire tournament will be streamed live on Twitch.
