Gamekit is a free social network for gaming aficionados. While the platform is still in beta and it might show a glitch or two, the nice, clean interface and the available features can make it worth your while to become a registered user. More than 8400 of the Gamekit users play Dota 2, so there is already a pretty big community shaping up on the platform.
Gamekit makes it easy to get started. You can either sign up with your Facebook account or with your email address. The site walks you through everything you need to do step by step, introducing the interface with neat pop-up boxes.
Once you have signed up and verified your email address, you can start putting the time you spend on the platform to good use by earning points and exchanging them for full versions of certain games or money for Steam Wallet. That is, in fact, one of the defining features of this social network.
There are various quests that you can do, such as completing your profile, posting to the forum, or answering various surveys. Completing a quest wins you experience and PTS, which are the Gamekit gamification currency. Points can be used in the Gamekit store to get games (Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Battlefield 4, Mortal Kombat, and others) or Steam Wallets worth $5 or $10.
You can find all the ways to earn Gamekit points in the “Get PTS” section, available for logged users. The easiest and fastest way to earn PTS is to complete tasks in games. You can also collect PTS by answering questions asked by fellow gamers or asking some of your own.
Users have their own wall and activity feed, that gets updated with various posts, actions, and achievements from their Gamekit friends and favorite games.
Gamekit features that you might enjoy:
- You can check out all the online streams:
- You can browse and rate pictures, screenshots and memes posted by other users and earn Gamekit points by doing so.
- You can join the discussions on the Dota 2 forum. The more you interact with the website, the more points you can earn.
- If you manage to place first in the monthly rankings, you receive 10,000 PTS – which you can then exchange for five $5 Steam Wallets.
