In a surprise announcement, the FACEIT Dota 2 Invitational will be featuring eight of the best teams from Europe. The event announced on Friday night, will begin on Monday afternoon and span the course of three days. Teams will compete for $25,000 in the all online event.
For the first time, FACEIT has announced they will be hosting a Dota 2 Invitational including a live broadcast for the event. Toby “TobiWan” Dawson and Kevin “Purge” Godec are headed to FACEIT’s Headquarters in London to cast the event from the gaming platform’s studio HERE.
The eight teams – OG, Team Liquid, Team Secret, Vega Squadron, Alliance, Team Empire, Escape Gaming and Ad Finem will not be present, as the event will take place online only.
The series will begin on Monday, October 17th at 14:00 CEST and will conclude with the grand finals on Wednesday, October 19th.
The single elimination best of one matches will be a brutal battle with each team bringing their A game to prove worthy of attending the Boston Major.
DOTA2 has always been a core product and passion for us here at FACEIT, we are very excited to finally bring our own production to the community. This is one of the last chances teams will get to really practice and gain notoriety before the invites are sent out for the coming Boston Major so we expect some nail biting matches
