Virtus.Pro, Team Secret, Team Liquid and Ad Finem are headed to the Boston Major EU regional qualifier playoffs.
Virtus.Pro slayed their opponents and captivated viewers with their strong and impressive performance. Running through the group stage with relative ease, they dropped only one game to Ad Finem for an 8:1 final record and the top spot.
The payout for their success – a spot in the playoffs and the selection of their opponents moving forward. The CIS team chose Team Liquid. The European team placed third in the group, tied with Ad Finem with a 6:3 record.
Team Secret – entered the competition as one of the favorites with a fresh mix of talent and success. They claimed the second place spot in the groups and will face the Greek squad – Ad Finem in the playoffs.
Vega Squadron, Imperial Gaming, Alliance, Escape Gaming, Na’Vi and Fantastic Five didn’t make the cut and have ended their hopes for an appearance at the Boston Major.
This will mark the first time that either Alliance or Na’Vi will not be present at a Valve tournament. The two El Clasico teams struggled to find their groove and results. Alliance found their way to three victories, with Na’Vi falling into tie for last place with two wins under their belt.

Boston Major Qualifiers format
The Boston Major Qualifiers format has been adjusted compared to previous Majors. This season, teams will be pitted against each other in a single group, instead of divided into two groups. Another significant change, teams will face each other in a best-of-one round robin. The top four teams in the group stage will advance to a best-of-three GSL-style playoffs bracket. Two teams per region will qualify for the Boston Major. Thus, there will be two phases to the Boston Major Qualifiers format: group stage and playoffs.
