ESPN will be launching an Esports section alongside its regular coverage of traditional sports. Darin Kwilinski of Azubu, Rod “Slasher” Breslau and Tyler “Fionn” Erzberger will be leading the section with their experience and knowledge. The first week content will be released shortly and will include “profiles on gamers who have influenced the meteoric rise of esports.”

ESPN announced the addition of an Esports section in the famous sports magazine.

The launch will be accessible from the ESPN homepage
The first week of content will include; “video, news on the current and future state of esports, offseason grades that look back on the past season of multiple league championships from around the world and profiles on gamers who have influenced the meteoric rise of esports.”
ESPN and Esports
In July 2014, ESPN had broadcast The International 4, the biggest Dota 2 tournament in the world at that time, on their streaming channel, ESPN3.
Back in March 2015, ESPN and MLG announced plans to bring Dota 2 to X-Games for the first time.
In April 2015, ESPN2 hosted the finals for a collegiate competition in Blizzard’s team brawler Heroes of the Storm

Darin Kwilinski is a veteran writer and gamer most recently the managing editor at Azubu. He began his career volunteering time at Leaguepedia (now Esportspedia), and started the League of Legends news section for onGamers.
Rod “Slasher” Breslau was most recently the senior editor at theScore eSports. Prior experience includes co-founding editor of CBS Interactive’s esports efforts at GameSpot eSports and onGamers, director of social media for Major League Gaming and host for the first daily live esports talk show.
Slasher’s first feature is about his journey into Esports.
Tyler “Fionn” Erzberger is an experienced writer having recently worked for theScore. Fionn began his career in the StarCraft scene for the website Team Liquid in 2011.
