Wings Gaming rallied back from a one-game deficit to take the series from compLexity Gaming and eliminate the North American team. Using an interesting draft and skill build for the deciding game, Wings proved they were versatile, creative and filled with talent.
Both teams pulled out some fantastic pocket strategies and played exceptionally well, providing entertainment and first class matches.
compLexity eliminated marks the third team to go home today.
Mineski was eliminated by compLexity Gaming, 1:2, in the ESL One Manila group A elimination series, earlier today. EHOME was the second team eliminated, when Team Secret took them out in a clean sweep during the ESL One Manila group B elimination series.
ESL One Manila group A: Decider Series
Wings vs. compLexity Gaming
The first game gave Zhou “bLink” Yang his signature hero – Invoker. compLexity Gaming took first blood, but Wings Gaming took control over the early game. Wings Gaming’s rotations continued to be smooth. compLexity Gaming started to close the gap and take the advantage in fights and pick offs. Thanks to the Lifestealer and “Gary” Golem, compLexity Gaming took the first match.
The second game was fairly even, before compLexity Gaming started to pull ahead. After a few swings back and forth, Wings Gaming charged ahead around minute 22 and didn’t look back. Wings were in control and pushed it to a deciding third game.
The deciding game once again gave Wings Gaming the Invoker. The Chinese team also took a Venomancer carry and Weaver offlane, highlighting unconventional drafting. The strategy was most likely a pocket strategy used to keep themselves in the event. The game started out even until the early mid game when Wings Gaming gained advantage and the lead.
