A StarLadder Star Series Season 12 group-stage game between Cloud9 and Scaryfacezzz was not only the longest Dota 2 game in history, but also a case of scrubbing out numerous other records and writing in new ones. The game went on for 200 minutes and 34 seconds (over 3 hours), shattering the previous record held at 125 minutes and 26 seconds by a FragByte Masters game between Team Dog and 4 Friends + Chrillee.
A roller-coaster of emotions and plays with surprises at every corner, the record-breaking game was the second game in the series. Each time it seemed to come to an end, various twists would occur: SFZ couldn’t push, or C9 wasn’t able to win the team fight in base, or there were no buy backs available. SFZ finally managed to win the longest Dota 2 game in history, restoring the tie and forcing the third game in the series, which lasted 37 minutes. In the end, Cloud 9 won at a score of 2:1.

ScaryFacezzz is a relatively new Ukrainian team. They secured their place in the SLTV Star Series by winning second place in the ProSeries event in January.
