paiN Gaming grabbed the Brasil Cup championship title recently – their third title for the Brazilian event. Their victory makes them the only team to ever win since the Brasil Cup’s inception. The team walks away with another trophy and the 40,000 Brazilian real (approximately $12,000) prize.

Brazil’s famed Dota 2 organization – paiN Gaming seized their third consecutive Brasil Cup championship title September 5th. paiN Gaming is able to claim the bragging rights and prestige of being the only team to hold the title since the event’s inception.
The team qualified in the open qualifiers that took place from June – September. The team didn’t drop a single match in the players – sweeping through FSM and Swagenteiger 2:0 to advance to the Grand Finals. They then executed a clean wipe through TShow 3:0 in the Grand Finals.
In March, the Brasil Game Cup (BGC) announced it’s third edition, boasting 60,000 Brazilian real (approximately $18,000) prize pool to be held at the Brasil Game Show.
The Brasil Game Show -the largest Latin American game show – took place September September 1st -5th, at São Paulo Expo.
Along with the prize money, the winner also received their name engraved on the Ralph Baer Trophy, as a “tribute to the creator of the first video game in history”.

Brasil Game Show and Cup
Brasil Game Show was held for the first time in 2009 in the capital of Rio de Janeiro as Rio Game Show. This year it was held September 1st – 5th, at São Paulo Expo -the largest and most modern exhibition center in Brazil.
BGC is a national electronic sports competition that “aims to further strengthen the game scenario in the country”. With qualifying rounds throughout the year, the competition will have its finals held at Brasil Game Show (BGS), the largest event of the sector in Latin America.
