Boston Major Open Qualifiers registration now open

The Boston Major Open Qualifiers registration process has begun. There will be TWO opportunities for up to 1024 teams per region to contend for spots in the Regional Qualifiers. All pertinent information, including registration details and rules have been released, giving ample time to prepare for the open qualifiers held between October 23rd – 26th.

The Boston Major Open Qualifiers registration has been opened officially.

The Open Qualifiers will be hosted by FACEIT and Perfect World and will take place between October 23rd-26th.

The winning teams will advance to participate in the Regional Qualifiers, which will take place between October 27th-30th.

The Boston Major will be held in Boston, United States, between December 7th-10th, at Wang Theater, with a set $3,000,000 prize pool. Sixteen teams will compete at the main event hosted by PGL.

Boston Major Open Qualifiers

Much like for the previous year’s Majors, there will be two opportunities for teams to compete in the Open Qualifiers for the Boston Majors. Two rounds of Open Qualifier will be hosted: the first Open Qualifier will take place on the 23rd and 24th of October, while the second Open Qualifier will follow on the 25th and 26th of October. Teams are able to register and participate in both sets of events.

Day 1 – October 23rd:

Teams that didn’t sign up on time and solo players will be able to sign-up 30 minutes before the tournament starts if there are available slots left.

Day 2 – October 24th:

The Boston Major teams

As part of the Major system, the roster lock was reinstated and teams were required to complete their roster registration by September 18th, in order to be eligible for the direct invites or Regional Qualifier invites.

The teams that will be directly invited to the Boston Major and its Regional Qualifiers are expected to be revealed only one or two days prior to the Open Qualifiers. The Regional Qualifiers will occur between October 27th-30th.

Boston Major

The Boston Major is scheduled to take place between December 7th-10th, at the Wang Theater, in Boston, USA. Wang Theater is located in a historic 1925 building that seats 3,600 people.

The event will be hosted by PGL and will be the first Major post-TI6.

Dota 2 Boston Major dates

• The Dota 2 Boston Major group stage will take place starting December 3rd.
• The Dota 2 Boston Major main event will take place between December 7th-10th at the Wang Theater, in Boston, USA.
