The thrilling adventure of the Boston Major Grand Finals has come to an end. OG were able to outplay, outdraft and outmaneuver some of the best teams in the world to claim their championship title.
The Boston Major Grand Finals was a war of for the Eagle Song trophy and Major title – OG won the battle but Ad Finem won the hearts of fans across the world.
OG took the first two games and were poised to wrap up the series with a tidy sweep over the fan sweethearts – Ad Finem. The Dream Green team had already displayed stellar drafting and strategies – executed perfectly freckled with astonishing individual and team plays. However, Ad Finem didn’t lose heart and lashed back out with their hearts and guts – playing almost as possessed and driven on another level. The Greeks stole the show and third game of the series, forcing OG to another match after 79 minutes of gameplay. With a standout performance by Anathan “ana” Pham on Invoker and Jesse “JerAx” Vainikka on his signature Earth Spirit, OG rolled over Ad Finem in the final match.
The European “Dream Green” team top seed in the brackets after taking the first position in the group stage. They wiped through MVP.Phoenix, bested WG.Unity 2:1, and then crushed Evil Geniuses 2:0 to be the first team to advance to the Boston Major Grand Finals.
This is the team’s third Dota 2 Major Championship title. They bested Team Secret, 3:1, at the Frankfurt Major, last November then Team Liquid 3:1 at the Manila Major in June.

Boston Major Grand Finals champions: OG
Following TI6, it was announced on OG’s facebook that the European organization bid farewell to Andreas Franck “Cr1t-” Nielsen, David “MoonMeander” Tan and Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi.
To help them accomplish their goals, OG recruited Gustav “s4” Magnusson – recently departed from Alliance and Jesse “JerAx” Vainikka who had just parted ways with Team Liquid earlier in the same day.
The most surprising addition to the team is Anathan “Ana” Pham, a relatively unknown face for Western fans. Ana is an Australian who has been spending time in China as part of Invitcus Gaming roster as substitute while Luo “Ferrari_430” Feichi was absent.
The player centered organization was the first team to win two Valve championship titles but slid into a disappointing 9-12th place finish at TI6.
This season the team has taken took third place at MDL 2016, second at The Summit 6 and the championship title for Elimination Mode 2.0.
