DreamLeague announced Season 4 will begin in only one week, with a “fresh new format”. The tournament will kick off with one open qualifier. Four teams from the open qualifier will advance to compete for the last spot against four invited qualifier teams. The one victor will join the seven directly invited teams in the League play. The top six teams will then battle it out at the DreamHack Winter LAN, for the $150,000 prize pool.
Among the invited teams will be reigning champions, Virtus.Pro, which defeated Na’Vi in the Grand Finals of DreamLeague Season 3. Vega Squadron and Team Empire will also be joining the league in hopes to overthrow their CIS rivals. Newer teams such as Monkey Business and Monkey Freedom Fighters will show their potential, while Swedish favorites, Alliance and NiP, will be returning.
