Pajkatt leaves Alliance, roster to be finalized by the end of the month

Alliance have officially announced the departure of their midlaner, Per “Pajkatt” Olsson Lille. Pajkatt’s replacement on the squad remains unknown, however, Alliance are currently in the process of trying out players and are expected to announce their final roster by the end of the month.

A rare sight in today’s reshuffle landscape, the announcement regarding Pajkatt’s departure was made on the team’s website and the split-up was handled with decorum and professionalism:

Since joining the Alliance family in spring this year, he has been a vital part of the team, joining us in tournaments around the world, from Austin to Jönköping. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time together with Pajkatt and are sad to announce that our partnership with him has come to an end.

Alliance’s captain, Jonathan “Loda“ Berg attributes Pajkatt‘s departure to one of the new patch’s adverse effects, that has taken its toll on the team, robbing it of its previous synergy:

“Today is a sad day, since I have to say goodbye to my friend and teammate, Pajkatt. He joined our team when we were struggling and, by hard work, we were able to play well together. Sadly, the new patch and everything surrounding it struck us hard as a team and we could not find the same synergy that we had before. We have all felt that there was something lacking for quite some time now and even though we are all great players individually, we haven’t been able to mesh well enough together as players. I know that Pajkatt has learned something from his time with us, and I wish him all the best wherever he might end up.”

Alliance’s manager, Kelly Ong Xiao Wei, praises Pajkatt for his dedication, professionalism and contribution to the team’s play-style:

“Pajkatt is a very professional individual. He has represented the brand well during his time with us and has a lot of dedication and passion for Dota 2. Unfortunately we had to make a change in the roster to shake things up but he will always be part of the f[A]mily! He has a lot of ideas when it comes to the game and contributes a lot on innovative strategies. We had a lot of fun and good times with him and I really hope he will find another team soon.”

A revered player who has made many important contributions to the Dota 2 scene throughout his career, Per “Pajkatt” Olsson Lille bids farewell to Alliance:

“I’m parting ways with Alliance, we had some good times and I’m glad I was a part of that. In the end, although we didn’t work out as a team, I still consider them good friends and I wish them best of luck in their future endeavors!”

According to Joakim “Akke“ Akterhall’s blog post, Alliance is currently in the process of trying out players. The new Majors roster lock-in system implemented by Valve requires teams to submit their finalized lineups by September 1st, so Alliance is expected to announce their complete roster by the end of the month.

The lineups are supposed to be done by 1st of September and after that you aren’t allowed to switch members until somewhere in December or something. Since we are making some changes, we are gonna try some people this week and then probably decide what the final lineup is gonna be.

The new Alliance roster will compete in the Gaming Resorts Dota 2 tournament, which will take place this fall, in Portorož, Slovenia, between September 10-12.
