Dominik “Black^” Reitmeier and teammates head to China. North American Team Tinker have become the third team that will participate in the i-League Dota 2 LAN in Shanghai, China, on May 19. Team Tinker qualified after taking down Summer’s Rift, 2-0, in the grand finals.
i-League Dota 2 NA Qualifiers
Team Tinker started their group stage by eliminating the new North American expansion team TongFu.NA, 2:0. It was TongFu.NA’s debut game after their establishment at the end of February. Team Tinker marched past complexity, 2-0, and secured their place in the grand finals.
Summer’s Rift struggled a little more in their first round, losing their first game to Void Boys and forcing a third game in order to advance. They next faced the Peruvian squad Not Today, who had recently returned from MLG Columbus without a single win, following an emotional series. Summer’s Rift eliminated the team, 2:0, extending Not Today’s losing streak to a total of seven losses in a row.
Team Tinker swept through Summer’s Rift in a convincing 2:0 series, despite an appearance of Root Gaming’s newly acquired Brian “FLUFFNSTUFF” Lee to replace Braxton “Brax” Paulson who was unavailable for the second match.

i-League Dota 2 SEA Region
SEA regionals have already begun, featuring Team Malaysia (MY), MVP.Phoenix, Can’t Say Wips, Arcanys, 5eva, Signature.Trust, Mineski and Invasion.
Team MY have already eliminated Invasion, 2:0, and will face CSW on April 18, who advanced after overtaking Arcany’s, 2:1.
5eva will face Signature.Trust, on April 15.
Mineski versus MVP.Phoenix is scheduled for April 16.
The remaining SEA scheduled games carry out daily, until the grand finals on April 19.
i-League Dota 2 China Region
Four other Chinese teams will be selected through a Chinese group stage qualifier, starting on April 20.
The Chinese qualifiers will be split into two stages, an open qualifier and an invitation based qualifier. The open qualifier will divide the teams into two groups. Teams will compete in a single elimination best of one format until only one team is left. The winners of their groups will then be seeded into the second phase, invitational qualifiers. Again, the teams will be divided into two groups and compete in best of two round robin; top two of each group will represent China in Shanghai.
i-League 2015
i-League Season 3 will feature a 2,000,000 RMB (~$300,000) prize pool and eight teams from around the world: five Chinese teams and one team each from the SEA, NA, and EU. The Alliance has qualified to represent EU at the LAN event. LGD received a direct invite, as last season’s defending champions.
i-League has a stormy history, including issues with inconsistent prize pool disclosure, multiple team withdrawals, and banning of Cloud 9 in the second season, after their last minute withdrawal. Evil Geniuses declined to take part in the i-League Season 3, over last season’s concerns.
