Prodota Gaming secured a spot in the regional qualifiers after coming out on top in the Kiev Major EU Open Qualifiers. The European team had a flawless run through the brackets, first surviving the brutal best-of-one matches and then sweeping through Slice n’ Dice and then Going In.
The mix of EU players had only recently come together, finalizing their new roster merely two weeks ago – bringing on board Micke “miCKe” Nguyen. The Swedish mid player has a long history and well established synergy with ex-HoN peer and former Dota 2 teammate Aydin “iNsania” Sarkohi has added an extra piece of closure on tightening up team dynamics. The organization also welcomed back Alexandru “ComeWithMe” Crăciunescu – previously a member of the team last season, alongside captain and carry player Ylli “garter” Ramadani. Garter had also played with the Romanian a few years ago, while standing in for one of the early iterations of Kaipi.
After sweeping through SnD in a very convincing manner, the team surged into the grand finals. The road was difficult for them and the matches were heartstopping. In the first match, the team came back from a 10k gold deficit and outpaced their opponents in a thrilling base race. The second match didn’t start out the best for the Europeans. Once again falling behind, the team managed to stage a comeback after taking an incredible fight at Roshan and turning the tides. A disconnect for Going In during the middle of a crucial fight outside their base then disrupted the flow. After over 20 mins the game was resumed. Prodota continued their unrelenting split pushing and capitalization on opportunities to then charge forward. Again, the team defied the odds and came back for another gripping victory.
Prodota Gaming will go up against Elements Pro Gaming, Team Secret, Ninjas in Pyjamas, B)ears, ALTERNATE aTTaX, Cloud 9, Alliance, IKEA and one other team still to be determined, in the Kiev Major EU Regional Qualifiers, scheduled to take place between March 11-12.
The Kiev Major will be held in Kiev, Ukraine, between April 27-30th, at National Palace of Arts, with a set $3,000,000 prize pool. Sixteen teams will compete at the main event hosted by PGL.
