Vultur, Mad Kings, Union and Unknown sail through Kiev Major SA Open Qualifiers

The first round of the Kiev Major SA Open Qualifiers has come to an end. Vultur Gaming, Mad Kings, Union Gaming and Unknown have secured each their spots in the regional qualifiers after a coming out ahead of their peers. Four more teams will advance. The second round of Open Qualifiers starts today, March 8th.

Vultur Gaming, Mad Kings, Union Gaming and Unknown have each secured a spot in the regional qualifiers after coming out on top in the Kiev Major SA Open Qualifiers.

The South American region was granted their own qualifiers to compete in for the Kiev Major. When the dust settled from the season and roster changes, only two teams met the criteria to be directly invited to the Kiev Major regional qualifiers. The other teams had all changed rosters or not competed much, if at all, in the new season.

The low amount of teams in turn has given eight teams the opportunity to advance from the Kiev Major SA Open Qualifiers – four from each set.

Of note is that Union Gaming knocked out Union Gaming.BO 2:1, Unknown swept through Infamous 2:0 and Mad Kings toppled over Not Today 2:0 all in the semi finals.

The three popular teams are still in contention though with the second set of qualifiers kicking off later today.

Vultur Gaming, Mad Kings, Union Gaming and Unknown will go up against SG e-sports, Midas Club Elite and four other teams still to be determined, in the Kiev Major SA Regional Qualifiers, scheduled to take place between March 11-12.

The Kiev Major will be held in Kiev, Ukraine, between April 27-30th, at National Palace of Arts, with a set $3,000,000 prize pool. Sixteen teams will compete at the main event hosted by PGL.

Kiev Major Open Qualifiers

Much like for the previous year’s Majors, there will be two opportunities for teams to compete in the Open Qualifiers for the Kiev Major. Two rounds of Open Qualifier will be hosted: the first Open Qualifier will take place on the 6th and 7th of March, while the second Open Qualifier will follow on the 8th and 9th of March. Teams are able to register and participate in both sets of events.
