WESG Group Stage Day 1 has come to an end. All twenty four teams are still vying for a spot in the playoffs, some with better chances than others. Not surprising is Cloud 9 sitting on top of their group. Action resumes tomorrow at 04:00 CET as all of the groups start their final battles and fight for survival – as half the teams will be eliminated.

WESG Group Stage Day 1 has come to a close after a long day of matches and competition.
Team Romania, Team Ukraine, Alliance, Fantastic Five, TnC Pro and Infamous are poised for contention going into the second day. All teams have a shot at advancing to the playoffs based on their results tomorrow.
Cloud 9 looks to be in prime position to advance with ease, as does MVP.Revolution and To.be.or.not.to.be.
Horde will need to really step it up to keep in the game, as will Ne RusЬ.
Aboshamalah, DUOBAO Young, MAX.Y seemed to have blown away their opponents in surprising performances that rivaled the best.
Only twelve teams will progress past tomorrow into the playoffs. Twelve teams will be eliminated tomorrow. Action resumes at 04:00 CET with all four groups competing.
WESG Group Stage Day 1: Group A Standings
To.be.or.not.to.be seemed to come out of left field in Group A to tie for the first place spot with MVP.Revolution – formerly NoLifer5. Both teams won two of their series and tied in the third for a total of 7 points.
Horde was slightly disappointing for many as they were unable to clinch a series win – instead ending in draws across the board for their three series.
Bravado struggled to find themselves a single victory all day – landing in last place with 0 points and little hopes to advance to the playoffs.
WESG Group Stage Day 1: Group B Standings
Cloud 9 are sitting at the top of the group with two wins and a tie equaling 7 points. SG e-sports from Brazil were the only team to manage to take a win off the all Danish lineup.
The Brazilians come in with a close second while Fantastic Five and Team Romania are tied in the third place spot. Both are still in top contention to advance to the playoffs and are expected to bring their A game to the table tomorrow in their final two series – facing off against each other for the moment of truth.
Vultur from Argentina round out the bottom of the group with one tie in a series and two losses.
WESG Group Stage Day 1: Group C Standings
Group C is a close three-way-tie for the top spot with Alliance, Aboshamalah and DUOBAO Young claiming victories in both of their series each today – granting them a total of 6 points each.
That also means the remaining three teams were unable to clinch a win and are all tied in the last three positions with 0 points each.
WESG Group Stage Day 1: Group D Standings
MAX.Y has taken the first place in the group as uncontested leaders.
The most famed teams – TnC, Team Ukraine and Infamous Gaming are all tied in second place with 3 points – one win and one tie in their series today.
Signature.Trust and Comanche are tied following with tie and loss a piece. The teams in Group D are still all within a stones throw of the playoffs.
