ASUS ROG SEA CUP Grand Finals; Execration topple over Faceless

The ASUS ROG SEA CUP Grand Finals crowned Execration as the victors. The Filipino team outlasted and triumphed over Team Faceless 3:2. The SEA event took place in the biggest mall of Thailand – Pantip E-Sport Arena December 17 and 18th featuring eight teams – Team Faceless, Execration, Mineski, Signature.Trust, Neolution, Typhoon, Please report timber and Eagles-eye competing for the lion’s share of the $14,750 prize pool

Brought to life by Toby “TobiWan” Dawson and Gareth “Gareth” Bateson – live on site ASUS ROG SEA CUP presented by Beyond Godlike came to a dramatic close in Bangkok, Thailand today.

The grand finals was pushed to the limits with a five game series as Execration and Team Faceless refused to yield in the last LAN tournament for the year. It took a grueling 86 minutes in game 5 for Execration to claim their victory.

The Filipino team was one of three invited teams to the event. They wiped out Neolution E-Sport in the first round 2:0 and bested Team Faceless 2:1 in the semi finals. Execration advanced to the winners finals to sweep through some of their national brethren on Mineski 2:0. Though their road looked and seemed relatively easy, Team Faceless put up a tremendous fight and refused to concede to them for hours.

Execration had suffered a devastating set back when they were not able to attend the Boston Majors due to visa issues and had to watch their invite be turned over to LGD Gaming. The team has shown a great deal of promise and talent during this last season and look towards the next season, starting with ESL One Genting in 2017.
