IG.Vitality were able to overcome and best ViCi Gaming 3:2 to claim their last championship title for the year and first since TI6 – an impressive feat considering they had just flown halfway across the world only two days prior from the Boston Major.
Playing under the heavy pressure and unknown nuances of the new patch update 7.00, the team surged forward, confident with their full roster intact.
The squad had taken second place in their group stage – suffering only one loss at the hands of ViCi Gaming -who had assumed the top place with a perfect run, undefeated.
IG.Vitality then swept WAY 2:0 to the finals.
ViCi Gaming had swept through Prodota Gaming 2:0 in the semi finals – a series that was riddled with server problems and controversy. After a crushing first game, the two teams met again – only for the server to crash 17 minutes in. All players were kicked from the game and the game data was completely lost. Without being able to reload the match, ViCi Gaming were awarded the default win, having more kills, a 9k gold advantage and being ahead in XP.
Situation 3 (During the Match): If the break-down happens beyond 10 minutes during the process and could not recover, the referee will determine the obvious advantages according to the confirmed kills of both sides, number of towers destroyed by the opponent, economical and experience differences. The side with obvious advantages will be the winner. If there is no obvious advantage on either side, they should restart the game. The sides and heroes remain the same previous to disconnection.
