Boston Major NA Open Qualifiers: EU conquers NA, Prodota Gaming triumph

The first round of the Boston Major NA Open Qualifiers has come to an end. Prodota Gaming landed the first Boston Major NA Regional Qualifiers available spot, after overpowering Vegetable Esports Club, 2:0, in the finals. The second round of Open Qualifiers starts tomorrow, October 25th, at 15:00 CDT.

Prodota Gaming secured a spot in the regional qualifiers after coming out on top in the Boston Major NA Open Qualifiers. The European team headed West for the open qualifiers to try their hand, since the Boston Major NA regional qualifiers had only six invited teams instead of eight and had just over 200 registered teams in the open qualifiers, as opposed to over 800 in Europe.

Increased ping and late hours didn’t deter the squad as they easily cruised through the best-of-one series and into the semifinals and grand finals without dropping a single match.

The finals caused a stir on social media, as Prodota Gaming rallied around the NA region and wiped out William “Blitz” Lee, Austin “Capitalist” Walsh and Ben “Merlini” Wu.

Veggies will not be able to play in the second round, so all other NA teams will have another chance starting tomorrow, in the second round of Boston Major NA Open Qualifiers.

Prodota Gaming will go up against compLexity, FDL, Team NP, Kingao+4, Infamous, Team Freedom and one other team still to be determined, in the Boston Major NA Regional Qualifiers, scheduled to take place between October 27th-30th.

The Boston Major will be held between December 7-11, at the Wang Theater, in Boston, USA, with a set prize-pool of $3,000,000. Sixteen teams will compete in the main event hosted by PGL and Valve.

Boston Major Open Qualifiers

Much like for the previous Majors, there will be two opportunities for teams to compete in the Boston Major Open Qualifiers. Two rounds of Open Qualifiers will be hosted – the first one will take place between October 23-24, while the second one is set for October 25-26. Teams are able to register and participate in both sets of events.

Rounds played: Round of 1024 (BO1), Round of 512 (BO1), Round of 256 (BO1), Round of 128 (BO1), Round of 64 (BO1), Round of 32 (BO1).

Teams that didn’t sign up on time and solo players will be able to sign-up 30 minutes before tournament starts if there are available slots left.
