Fantastic Five secured a spot in the regional qualifiers after coming out on top in the Boston Major EU Open Qualifiers. The CIS team had also secured a place in the TI6 regional qualifiers after the second round of open qualifiers.
The Boston Major EU Open Qualifiers last four were all CIS teams, playing late into the night as they battled out for the one spot. It was after 04:00 CEST on Tuesday, October 25 before the winner was determined – following an intense three game series. The second match of the series lasted over one hour long.
Fantastic Five survived the brutal best-of-one series to advance to the semi finals where they faced Team Empire. F5 had bested the Empire 2:1 to head into the grand finals.
Flipsid3 Tactics navigated the elimination matches – upsetting the favorites, Imperial before defeating FRIENDS 2:1.
