WG.Unity claim Boston Major SEA regional qualifiers spot

The first round of the Boston Major SEA Open Qualifiers has come to an end. WG.Unity landed the first Boston Major SEA Regional Qualifiers available spot, after overpowering Fire Dragoon Esports 2:0 in the finals. The second round of Open Qualifiers starts tomorrow, October 25th at 16:00 SGT/10:00 CEST.

WG.Unity secured a spot in the regional qualifiers after coming out on top in the Boston Major SEA Open Qualifiers. The Malaysian team has participated in the SEA Manila Major regional qualifiers and TI6 SEA Regional qualifiers in the past. This time the teams comes to the regional qualifiers through the open brackets.

The Malaysian team didn’t drop a single match after cruising through the best-of-one elimination series and then sweeping through Acion Arena 2:0 in the semi finals and Fire Dragoon Esports in two very quick matches in the finals.

Fire Dragoon Esports will have another chance starting tomorrow in the second round of Boston Major SEA Open Qualifiers.

WG.Unity will go up against Team Faceless, Fnatic, Mineski, Rex Regum, Signature.Trust, The Mongolz, TnC Gaming and one other team still to be determined, in the Boston Major SEA Regional Qualifiers, scheduled to take place between October 27-30th.

The Boston Major will be held between December 7-11, at the Wang Theater, in Boston, USA, with a set prize-pool of $3,000,000. Sixteen teams will compete in the main event hosted by PGL and Valve.

Boston Major Open Qualifiers

Much like for the previous Majors, there will be two opportunities for teams to compete in the Boston Major Open Qualifiers. Two rounds of Open Qualifiers will be hosted – the first one will take place between October 23-24, while the second one is set for October 25-26. Teams are able to register and participate in both sets of events.

Day 1 – October 25th:

Rounds played: Round of 1024 (BO1), Round of 512 (BO1), Round of 256 (BO1), Round of 128 (BO1), Round of 64 (BO1), Round of 32 (BO1).

Teams that didn’t sign up on time and solo players will be able to sign-up 30 minutes before tournament starts if there are available slots left.

Day 2 – October 26th:
