The Boston Major NA Open Qualifiers teams are getting ready to go head to head in to the brutal best-of-one series. The first of the Boston Major NA Open Qualifiers kicks off shortly, at 15:00 CDT /22:00 CEST, with only just over 200 registered teams – including none other than EU team Prodota Gaming. The NA qualifiers are scare, with only six, instead of eight teams being directly invited. There will be two separate opportunities for teams to contend for one of the two spots available in the Regional Qualifiers.
With the Boston Major announcement, Open Qualifiers for each region were added to the mix, giving eight teams (two from each region) that were not directly invited to the event or its Regional Qualifiers the opportunity to try out their luck. Boston Major Open Qualifiers teams will compete to advance into the Regional Qualifiers.
With the Boston Major NA regional invites having only 6 direct invites as opposed to the standard eight and just over 200 teams registered, the appeal to compete in the region was present. Prodota Gaming from Europe have decided to try their hand in the NA qualifiers – a move that is not breaking any rules.
Valve has partnered up with FaceIT to host the Boston Major NA Open Qualifiers. All the information on notable contenders, schedule and streams is wrapped up below.
The Boston Major EU Open Qualifiers teams that win will advance to the Regional Qualifiers, which will take place between October 27th-30th.
The Boston Major will be held between December 7-11, at the Wang Theater, in Boston, USA, with a set prize-pool of $3,000,000. Sixteen teams will compete in the main event hosted by PGL and Valve.

Boston Major NA Open Qualifiers schedule
Much like for the previous Majors, there will be two opportunities for teams to compete in the Boston Major NA Open Qualifiers. Two rounds of Open Qualifiers will be hosted – the first one will take place between October 23rd-24th, while the second one is set for October 25th-26th. Teams are able to register and participate in both sets of events.
Teams that didn’t sign up on time and solo players will be able to sign-up 30 minutes before the tournament starts if there are available slots left. All teams will be able to register five players and two stand-ins which they will be able to use in the Closed Qualifiers. Each team will only be able to use five selected players throughout the Boston Major Open Qualifiers.

Notable Boston Major NA Open Qualifiers teams
Some of the Boston Major Open Qualifiers teams were not directly invited to the Regional Qualifiers due to roster changes or simply did not make the cut for the already stacked regional list. Many notable teams were left to qualify in the Boston Major Open Qualifiers. Among them, there are some quite strong teams that are expected to create an atmosphere of fierce competition in the brutal best-of-one brackets.

Vegetables Esports Club started out in 2015, when Ben “Merlini” Wu, Austin “Capitalist” Walsh, Jacob “Maelk” Toft-Andersen, Kevin “Purge” Godec, and Monib “Monib” Baray registered for the Shanghai Major.
The commentators’ team participated in the Summit 5 and Shanghai Major open qualifiers for the North American region.
The team took the 3rd-4th place in the NA Shanghai Major Open Qualifiers and 8th-11th place in the Summit 5 qualifiers. Their lack of presence in other tournaments is mostly due to being a casual Dota 2 team with limited time for training and competition.
Since the team’s inception, Monib was replaced by William “Blitz” Lee. The Veggies registered former Evil Geniuses manager Charlie Yang as their official substitute, in March 2016.

Prodota Gaming
Prodota Gaming has participated in the monthly competitions since the beginning. They seized their first championship title in PD Cup 3, followed by a second place finish in PD Cup 4.
The organization has recently branched off of their original CIS project and switched gears into being a European extension. Since transitioning into a full European team, Prodota Gaming has been climbing their way back to success.
At the end of June, just in time for the TI6 open qualifiers Prodota Gaming underwent a full overhaul of their roster to be centered around carry player Ylli “Garter” Ramadani. Several roster changes resulted in recruiting Linus “Kefka” Bleckert and Malthe “Biver” Winther at the end of July. Alexandru “ComeWithMe” Craciunescu and Jure “Pingvincek” Plešej stepped in for the squad two weeks later and the squad has enjoyed considerable success.
After much uncertainty surrounding the upcoming Fall Major 2016 season, the Prodota Gaming roster was secured. When Armand “bOne7” Pittner missed the drop deadline by mere hours ComeWithMe had been locked into Kaipi, instead of ProDota Gaming. Valve took action and settled team registration issues. The team was able to finalize their roster officially with their core lineup of players.
