Romanian Dota Pro League Season 3 announced, $1,500 prize pool for grabs

Dota2Romania has announced the third season of the Romanian Dota Pro League, set to take place between October 5th and November 13th. The LAN playoffs and finals will be hosted by Nexus Gamers Pub, in Bucharest, on November 13th.

This year, for the third season of the Romanian Dota Pro League, the total prize pool starts at $1,500, distributed as follows:

• 1st place: $1,000

• 2nd place: $500

RDPL Season 3 kicks off on October 5th, with eight series of Single Elimination, Best-of-one Open Qualifiers, to be hosted by FACEIT.

The Main Event is scheduled for October 28th – November 7th.

Two teams from each Open Qualifier – a total of 16 teams – will advance into the GSL (Double Elimination Bracket) Groupstage.

The winning team from each of the four groups will advance into the LAN playoffs and finals set to take place at the Nexus Gamers Pub, in Bucharest, on November 13th.

Romanian Dota Pro League Season 3 format

• October 5th-26th: 8 Open Qualifier series, Single Elimination, Best-of-One

• October 28th-November 7th: 2 teams from each of the Open Qualifiers – a total of 16 teams – move forward into the Groupstage. The 16 teams will be divided into four groups of four. The winning team from each group will advance into the LAN playoffs.

• November 13th: LAN playoffs and finals

Romanian Dota Pro League Season 3 crowdfunding options

The Romanian Dota Pro League is the first Romanian tournament to benefit from a crowdfunding system. Dota 2 fans can help increase the total prize pool in three ways, through the Matcherino platform.

• For each member of the Romanian community who uses the “RDPL3” coupon, Matcherino will increase the prize pool by $1 (limited to $200).

• Users who are logged into Twitch on Matcherino can gather points for every game watched on the Dota2Romania stream. The points can be used to buy certain “rewards” offered by the Dota2Romania team. The rewards’ equivalent in dollars will be added to the total prize pool.

• Through donations

The crowdfunding campaign will begin on October 3rd. Depending on the total amount gathered, Dota2Romania will provide various community benefits (stretch goals).
