The Summit 5 LAN Day 1 has come to an end after getting off to a great start. OG and Fnatic both showed up with their A game – both teams wiping out FDL and Digital Chaos respectively. Their success was rewarded with being forced to play each other as the third series of the day, where OG bested the Malaysian team 2:1.
Miracle- continues to steal the spotlight with his infamous 9k mmr moves, with the rest of OG performing as a first class act.
Fnatic has shown considerable growth and strength leading up to TI6 – proving to be a fearsome enemy for all opponents as they continue to evolve.
Digital Chaos has shown glimpses of brilliance and ingenuity as they continue to seek their place in the top levels of the international scene.
FDL has given fans much to talk about and captured the attention of viewers after having a few recent opportunities in the spotlight.
The matches, guest star couch casting and shenanigans will resume July 14th.
The action picks up with the remaining four teams – Ad Finem, Na’Vi, Wings and Team Liquid. Without a doubt these four teams will continue to provide the five star quality matches fans have come to expect of The Summit.
Summit 5 LAN Day 1 recap
OG vs FDL upper bracket quarterfinals
OG wiped through FDL 2:0 in the first series kicking off the big event. Both teams played well, but the big hype came from FDL’s mid lane player Quinn “CC&C” Callahan. The American was a worthy opponent for famed Amer “Miracle-“ Al-Barkawi 9k mmr star.

Fnatic vs Digital Chaos upper bracket quarterfinals
Fnatic came out of the gates looking incredibly strong. The Malaysian team wiped through the North American based team with relative ease. Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung had spectacular performances in both matches – including a flawless Medusa for game 1. The Bristleback-Io combo in the second game proved to be too much for DC to handle.
OG vs Fnatic upper bracket semifinals
OG bested Fnatic 2:1 in their exciting series. After taking the first win with a flawless Tinker by Miracle- and an incredible performance by Johan “n0tail” Sundstein on Terroroblade, they dropped the second match to Fnatic. Fnatic fought hard in the second game, seizing the game back from OG after 33 minutes and with a well farmed Mushi on Luna. Their victory tied up the series 1:1 and the deciding match was primed to be top notch. Unfortunately for Fnatic, OG dominated the last game and with David “MoonMeander” Tan’s perfect Legion Commander, Miracle-s exceptional Tinker and Andreas Franck “Cr1t-“ Nielsen’s insane EarthShaker it was all over quickly.
