Nanyang Championships season 2 finals have come to a dramatic end when Newbee outplayed and outlasted Wings Gaming 3:2 in the best-of-five grand finals. This is the new roster’s first title together after a season of record breaking wins and dominance over the scene. Newbee swept through LGD gaming in the lower bracket finals to advance to the Grand Finals to go head to head with Wings.

Nanyang Championships season 2 finals were intense, thrilling and incredibly long. It took all five games – two of which were almost one hour long each to determine a winner.
After grabbing the first victory in 52 grueling minutes, Newbee then fell behind 2:1 as Wings Gaming picked up the next two consecutive wins in approximately 40 minutes each.
Wings is known for their unconventional drafting, outside the meta strategies and unique playstyle. Newbee has been dominating the scene since the start of the new season with their revamped star-studded roster. At three games in, the emotions were high and results still belonged to either of these formidable opponents.
Newbee struck back hard and after an hour seized the next victory to tie up the series 2:2. With the last match on the line, Newbee’s final draft a Huskar, Wisp and Drow Ranger – and the team claimed the win in 36 minutes.

Newbee vs LGD Gaming – Lower Bracket finals series
The first game was primarily in favor of Newbee as they took their victory in 45 minutes with relative ease. With a Drow, Viper, Wisp pick, Newbee stomped LGD Gaming in only 24 minutes to advance to the grand finals.

The Grand Finals were thrilling and intense as these two TI6 bound teams clashed for hours in full five game series.
Nanyang Championships season 2
The second season of Nanyang Championships took fans by surprise when it was quietly announced to be scheduled July 6th-10th and held in China instead of Singapore, where the first season was hosted.
Eight teams competed in Shanghai for the $200,000 base prize pool.

The base prize pool for this tournament was $200,000. An additional 25% of all tickets sales was added to the total prize pool.
The final prize pool is $200,971.
- 1st place: $100,000 + 12% ticket sales – Newbee
- 2nd place: $50,000 + 6% ticket sales – Wings Gaming
- 3rd place: $25,000 + 3% ticket sales – LGD Gaming
- 4th place: $10,000 + 2% ticket sales – CDEC.Youth
- 5-6th place: $7,500 + 1% ticket sales –Digital Chaos/ViCi Gaming.Reborn
- 7-8th place: –Team Empire/WG.Unity
