TI6 prize pool has already exceeded $16,000,000 – a mere $2 million shy of the TI5 record breaking prize pool. With the impending release of the Immortal Treasure III and a little over 40 days left, TI6 prize pool is bound to shatter records. If we take away the $1,600,000 Valve chipped in, we’re left with over $14,514,490 raised by the community. However, only 25% of the proceeds of each sale contributes to the prize pool. Therefore, the Dota 2 community actually spent almost $58,058,000 on TI6 Battle Passes and levels.
Thanks to the Dota 2 community’s contributions, TI6 prize pool has exceeded $16,000,000, 46 days after The International 6 Battle Pass became available.
With a little over 40 days remaining, TI6 prize pool shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. The prize fund is quickly encroaching on last year’s prize of $18,429,613 – the largest in esports history to date. Being only $2,000,000 shy, the TI6 prize pool will easily shatter TI5’s record.
At 10:00 CEST, on July 3rd, the total TI6 prize pool has reached $16,101,753. If we take away the base prize pool of $1,600,000 provided by Valve, we’re left with $14,501,753 contributed by the community – a 906.36% increase.
According to the TI6 prize pool tracker that provides real time hourly comparison graphs, this year’s International prize pool continued to grow at a faster pace than last year’s record-setting prize fund.
TI6 prize pool spikes
On day 37, June 24th, the Immortal Treasure II was released.
In the first 24 hours, the TI6 prize pool jumped over $600,000 – surpassing the $13 million mark.
Only two days ago, on July 1st, Valve released the Battle Level Bundle – a summer sale with savings of over 60%. Current compendium owners were able to purchase a bundle including 50 levels, treasures and caches, for only $14.99.
Since the bundle’s release, TI6 prize pool has jumped $1,839,426 – from just over $14 million to over $16,000,000.
The Immortal Treasure III is still yet to be released and another significant spike is expected as compendium owners scramble to claim their rewards.
TI6 prize pool contributions
The Dota 2 community can contribute to TI6 prize pool by purchasing The International 6 Battle Pass. The basic version is available for $9.99, while the Level 50 Battle Pass is on sale for a discounted price of $26.99. Owners can also purchase bundles of 5, 11 and 24 levels to upgrade their Battle Passes, for $2.49, $4.99, and $9.99.
If the TI6 prize pool surpasses last year’s total, each Battle Pass owner will be rewarded three Trust of the Benefactor treasures. Each of those treasures might contain a 2016 Immortal Treasure, a Random Hero Set, an Arcana Set, or an ultra rare chance at one of the following limited-run prizes:
In order to bring TI6 prize pool to $19 million, the Dota 2 community would have to spend $69,600,000, leaving Valve with over $50 million on their hands.
The International
The International is the annual Dota 2 tournament hosted by Valve Corporation. The International made its debut in August 2011, with a total prize pool of $1.6 million.
Last year’s event, The International 5, took place between August 3rd-8th at the KeyArena – a multi-purpose arena in Seattle, Washington, with a maximum capacity of over 17,000. The Dota 2 community contributed with a staggering $16,829,613 to the $1.6 million base prize pool, making the total prize fund of almost $18,429,613 million the largest in esports history. The International titleholder is North-American team Evil Geniuses.
This year’s main event will take place at the KeyArena in Seattle, Washington, between August 8th-13th. All 16 participating teams will advance to the main event and are expected to receive a share of the prize-pool.
The International 6 prize pool has outpaced The International 5 one from the very beginning. In the first two hours, the Battle Pass sales have enhanced the prize pool by close to $275,000 – a 38% increase compared to the TI5 sales in the same period of time. The prize pool broke the $10 million mark on June 5th. As of July 3rd, the total TI6 prize pool is already over $16 million – a $14.5 million contribution (over 906% increase).

July 4, 2016 at 12:08 pmAvolus
(137 comments)it is actually a very tempting offer…and if people did not like hats…the compendium itself would have been a failure…
July 4, 2016 at 1:31 pmbut there is a point where u should draw the line and say enough is enough…like the 2500 levels rewards…i mean..come on…

(969 comments)Very very tempting specially when that invoker immortal set was release. What a sick non-arcana item 😮
July 4, 2016 at 3:27 pmbakala
(868 comments)Yeah, the offer is great, if I had a compendium I would have definitely bought it. I didn’t play much last couple of months so I didn’t buy it, but I would like to see players being rewarded for actually playing the game at least a bit more. I mean, you can’t even get the sick terrain at level 125 without buying levels, which is a shame. But Dota now has a huge base of players, so I guess they now how to profit out of it. And there’s this one guy on reddit that bought two of those package deals by accident, even tho you can only buy 1. It bugged for him or something, and he’s complaining. Lol
July 4, 2016 at 4:24 pmbakala
(868 comments)@ice yeah that voker set has to be the best non-arcana item in the game.

(969 comments)LUL 2. He couldn’t sell it, right?
July 5, 2016 at 3:18 ambakala
(868 comments)It’s not that he couldn’t sell it, it’s the fact that almost every compendium owner wants to be able to buy the package multiple times. This guy got it by accident and complains about it.
