The TI6 Qualifiers Chinese results from the playoffs continued to show flashes of brilliance and spectacular individual and team plays.
The final match of the day took 90 minutes to conclude and ended up seeing the TI2 championship team eliminated. This will mark the first International that Luo “Ferrari_430” Feichi will not be attending since its’ inception. ViCi Gaming had swept through the once Chinese giants and secured a TI6 spot for the Vici Gaming organization.
EHOME had earlier secured their place at TI6 when they knocked ViCi Gaming.Reborn into the lower brackets after besting them 2:1
The matches resume on June 29, at 06:00 CEST, and are expected to be intense, as the teams continue their quest within the second stage of the qualifiers – the double elimination brackets and Grand Finals. Only one team will claim the regional spot for the TI6 and one team will have to try their luck in the TI6 Wild Card series.
TI6 Qualifiers Chinese results
Upper Bracket preliminaries ViCi Gaming.Reborn vs IG
The first game was 67 minutes long and contained some intense moments and substantial swings. Although VG.R seemed to always be in the lead, they often were pulled back to even and were in jeopardy of still losing at the hands of IG. Having to contend with the Phantom Lancer and a rolling Earth Spirit, VG.R were always fighting to keep their position. Yang “Zyf/end” Pu’s Slark and Zhou “Yang” Haiyang’s Broodmother were exceptional with fantastic setups and coordination from the support players. Coach Tong “mikasa” Junjie helped to bring VG.R to victory.
The second match was almost as long, taking a full 57 minutes. Even through the first 13 minutes, IG then seized the lead all the way until minute 50. A devastating team fight would throw the team out of the advantage and propel ViCi Gaming.Reborn to the victory at the end.
TI6 Qualifiers Chinese results: ViCi Gaming.Reborn 2:0 IG With their victory, ViCi Gaming.Reborn advanced in the upper brackets, dropping Invictus Gaming to the lower brackets elimination series.
Upper Bracket preliminaries EHOME vs ViCi Gaming
The first match was another incredibly long battle between two Chinese icons. Intense swings and encounters would dominate the 54 minute game ultimately yielding to EHOME’s victory. ViCi Gaming had a slight advantage or more through the first 49 minutes of the game. However, armed with a perfect game on Spectre by Daryl Koh “iceiceice” Pei Xiang and an insanely farmed and well played Timbersaw by Wang “old chicken” Zhiyong would give EHOME the victory following a huge team fight.
The second match was a bit shorter in comparison – taking 43 minutes. It was also the most one sided match of the playoffs to this point for China. Taking the lead right from the gate, iceiceice’s flawless Lifestealer and old chicken’s incredible Death Prophet helped to lead the team to win.
TI6 Qualifiers Chinese results: EHOME 2:0 ViCi Gaming EHOME advanced the upper bracket finals and ViCi Gaming dropped to the lower brackets elimination series.
Upper Bracket finals EHOME vs ViCi Gaming.Reborn
The first match was completely dominated by EHOME in only 30 minutes. The Chinese icons gave iceiceice Terrorblade – a hero which he shined on with a perfect game. Once again, Old Chicken would be leading the pack, this time with an outstanding performance on Storm Spirit.
The second match was very even and tight for most of the game. With better late game heroes and exceptional plays by End on Slark, ViCi Gaming.Reborn turned the tides on EHOME. Taking a great team fight VG.R went from an 8k gold deficit to winning by 20k in the matter of five minutes. Their victory evened out the series 1:1.
The deciding game was fairly decisive in favor of EHOME. In 43 minutes they sealed their fate to attend TI6 – either as a wild card contender or direct to the main event. iceiceice’s flawless Timbersaw was too much for ViCi Gaming.Reborn to handle as they had no counters for it at all. EHOME ended with a 27k gold advantage.
TI6 Qualifiers Chinese results: EHOME 2:1 ViCi Gaming.Reborn EHOME advanced to the Grand Finals and ViCi Gaming.Reborn dropped to the lower brackets elimination series.
Lower Bracket Round 1 Invictus Gaming vs ViCi Gaming
The first match of the series was overwhelmingly one-sided in favor of ViCi Gaming. In 32 minutes with a score of 17:7 ViCi Gaming too the first victory. Liu “Sylar” Jiajun on Sven and Chen “Cty” Tianyu on Templar Assassin played perfect games and executed their strategy well.
Contrary to the first game, the second match took a whopping 90 minutes long with an end score of 57:37. The game was quite intense and thrilling, but ViCi Gaming managed to seal the deal for their victory eventually. The drafts were very well balanced which is why it took so long to determine a winner but ViCi Gaming had better execution in the end.
