TI6 Compendium – also dubbed The International 2016 Battle Pass – has been released. TI6 Compendium owners can enhance their Battle Levels to earn Immortal Treasures, equippable terrain, emoticons, hero taunts and many other new and exciting rewards by completing Quests, winning Wagers, unlocking Community Goals, or buying Battle Level Bundles. As per usual, 25% of all TI6 Compendium sales will be redirected to increasing The International prize-pool.
UPDATE (August 13th):
TI6 final standings, updates and highlights – HERE
This year’s International Compendium has been released by Valve, earlier today.
While Valve has refreshed its name and changed it into “The International Battle Pass”, it is precisely the TI6 Compendium the Dota 2 community has been waiting for, in a rather different attire. The International 6 segment of the Compendium is still missing and understandably so, because the invites and all further TI6 details cannot be expected until after the Manila Major. There won’t be a special Battle Pass dedicated to the Manila Major, so The International 2016 Battle Pass will be updated to encapsulate both the Major and The International.
The base prize-pool for this year’s International is at $1,600,000, with 25% of all TI6 Compendium (The International Battle Pass) sales being added to the prize fund. In the first two hours, the TI6 Compendium sales have enhanced the prize-pool by close to $275,000 – a 38% increase compared to the TI5 sales in the same period of time. Now, the base prize-pool has been doubled through community contributions. As of May 17th, 14:22 CEST, the total TI6 prize-pool is already close to $3.3 million.
This year’s Compendium comes with three Immortal Treasures, community challenges and exciting daily quests, a brand new wagering system, the possibility to compete in weekly Battle Cups, and a myriad of rewards waiting to be unlocked for up to level 2,500.
Certainly among the most exciting features of the 2016 Compendium is the chance of recalibrating current MMR. After playing at least 40 International Ranked games, TI6 Compendium owners can opt to replace their regular Match-making Rating with their new seasonal one.

The International 2016 Prize-Pool
Last year, the Dota 2 community rounded up the International prize-pool to a record-setting total of $18,429,613. If the 2016 prize-pool surpasses last year’s total, each TI6 Compendium owner will be rewarded three Trust of the Benefactor treasures. Each of those treasures might contain a 2016 Immortal Treasure, a Random Hero Set, an Arcana Set, or an ultra rare chance at one of the following limited-run prizes:
For the first time in the Compendium history, owners can predict the total prize-pool. Correct prognostics will be compensated with 10 Battle Pass Levels.
TI6 Compendium Quests
Before each game, owners can choose one of three Paths to determine their current objective. If they complete the assignment and win the match, they earn Battle Points and go forward to the next Quest. Battle Points can be used to level up the Battle Pass and unlock new rewards. Similar to last year’s Level Points, 100 Battle Points can be redeemed for one Battle Pass Level.
Paths come with several nodes, and every node of each Path has three tiers of difficulty, each providing a different Battle Point reward. TI6 Compendium owners can complete the Quest by accomplishing any tier of difficulty. Naturally, Battle Pass owners will receive the maximum number of Battle Points for each node if they manage to complete the most difficult tier and aim for the Three-Star objective.
The final Quest of each Path will unlock a unique Completion Reward. TI6 Compendium owners who complete all the Three-Star objectives along a Path can also receive style upgrades.
Those players who reach the Battle Pass Level 225 will get a special Legion Commander Prestige item and unlock a Quest Path designed specifically for her. Upon completion of the Tresdin Path, players will latch on to a visually-unique enhancement for the Prestige item.
Players can check out the history of their Battle Points progress in the Battle Pass Points Log, where they will have access to dates, level gains, and point totals of all their accomplishments.
TI6 Compendium Wagering
In addition to completing various Quests, Battle Pass owners can earn Battle Points by placing wagers and backing them up with victories. Each week, players will receive a balance of Tokens to use for bets. Unspent Tokens will not be transferred into the next week’s balance.
All TI6 Compendium owners will be given an additional 500 Tokens per week when their Battle Pass reaches level 119, another 500 at level 235, and 1000 at level 395. The players who receive those upgrades will be able to bet up to 500 Tokens in a single game.
It appears that Valve have also set their sights on stimulating the players’ altruistic side through the so-called “Post-Game Tipping” option. After destroying the enemy Ancient, players can reward a deserving teammate or opponent with some of their winnings.
TI6 Compendium Community Challenge
Various Community Challenges will be available to all the Battle Pass owners. Whenever players carry off challenge objectives in their winning matches, they contribute to the community progress bar. When the progress bar is filled, all the Battle Pass owners will be granted three fireballs that can be dropped in Lina’s Battle Blaze for a chance to win Battle Points. Players will start off with three free fireballs.
The new International Ranked Match-Making
Compendium owners are given the opportunity to play The International Ranked games, instead of regular Ranked Match-Making. Players can join The International Ranked Queue to begin the calibration and track their MMR progress on the new Friend and Global Leaderboards.
At the end of The International 2016 Grand Finals, players will receive an achievement trophy digitally engraved with their Peak MMR and the option to display their highest record on their profile for the following year.
If compendium owners play at least 40 International Ranked games, they can replace their regular ranked MMR with their new Season MMR, once The International 2016 is over and the TI6 Compendium expires, at the end of August.
The Weekend Battle Cup
Through the Weekend Battle Cup, Valve aims at making the thrills of competitive Dota available to everyone. Weekly cups will be scheduled and announced. Participants will be able to party up and battle through eight-team, single-elimination brackets. Teams will be pitted against evenly-matched opponents competing in one of four geographic divisions. Winners will receive Battle Points, tournament trophies for their profiles, and special in-match items.
All TI6 Compendium owners will get one free entry ticket and five more at level 137. Additional tickets will be available in the Dota 2 store. The Weekend Battle Cup season will run for the duration of the Battle Pass. The first weekend cup will kick off in June. According to Valve, more details will be released soon.
Battle Pass Arcana Vote
Battle Pass owners will be able to vote for the hero they think should receive an Arcana set. Owners will start off with 16 votes that can either be cast on one hero or split among multiple heroes. The 16 votes will be replenished at the beginning of each voting round. The winning hero will be announced at The International 2016.
TI6 Compendium – The International 2016 Battle Pass Rewards
Compendium owners can increase their Battle Levels by completing Battle Pass objectives or purchasing level bundles. By leveling up their Battle Passes, they can get their hands on numerous exclusive rewards, including additional Immortal Treasures, a new equippable terrain, emoticons, hero taunts, and many more.

(16 comments)This year’s compendium is kinda better than last year’s but being able to recalibrate your mmr is just a bad idea.
May 17, 2016 at 8:47 pmbakala
(868 comments)It’s not bad at all, it’s an ok feature. The point of this is to enable people who value their accounts too much and refuse to smurf to, basically, smurf. It’s pay wall backed, which means that people who will play seasonal ranked are most likely hardcore players that care about the game enough to spend money on it. So the chances are that you will calibrate lower or around the same mmr you are at right now, unless your mmr is way lower than it should be(like if you haven’t played ranked in a year).
May 19, 2016 at 3:25 amWhat I’m more concerned about is that garden map, that’s some ez jukes p2w shit right there.
