World Cyber Arena 2015 European Pro Qualifiers have been scheduled to take place from September 21 through September 24th. Eight invited teams will compete for $87,500 prize pool and the two spots allocated to the region for the main event being held in China during December.
The WCA 2015 Pro Qualifiers began in April with LGD Gaming and CDEC securing the place in the main event following the Chinese Pro Qualifiers. In May, Summer’s Rift and NoT Today qualified to participate in the event from the America’s Pro Qualifiers. The European Pro Qualifiers are next on the list and are set to begin September 21st.
No word has been released regarding which team will replace Summer’s Rift following their disband after TI5, nor has their been any information on the SEA Region Pro Qualifiers.
The eight invited teams will compete for both the $87,500 prize pool for the qualifiers and the chance to be one of two teams receive an invite to the main event scheduled to take place December 17 through 20 in Yichuan, China.
The main event will consist of the 16 qualified teams and will feature a prize pool of $650,000.
Last year, WCA 2014 was held in October and Newbee quickly seized first place, with Cloud 9 taking second and Alliance placing third. The total prize pool was approximately $472,000.
