Big changes have taken place for Virtus.Pro roster as they replace Alexander “DkPhobos” Kucheria, and Ilya “Lil” Ilyuk with Maxim “yoky” Kim and Alexander ” NoFear ” Churochkin. Due to continued health issues, Airat “Silent” Gaziev has been moved to the substitute role and is currently inactive. One role is still open on the team roster and expected to be announced in the next two days.

The news of the Virtus.Pro roster changes was hinted at first by Ilya “Lil” Ilyuk in a tweet. The organization then revealed the extensive changes that have taken place within the CIS roster.
Both Lil and Alexander “DkPhobos” Kucheria have parted ways with the squad and been replaced by Maxim “yoky” Kim and Alexander “NoFear”Churochkin.
NoFear most recently was playing for Team Empire and Yoky had stood in for Empire at DotaPit season 4 but had parted ways with Team Empire in early November. He had not been on stable team since.
Airat “Silent” Gaziev has been moved to inactive status and taken on the role of the substitute. It was reported that he had fallen ill since returning from Shanghai and will be attending to his health. Virtus.Pro played the DotaPit LAN with the help of Alexander “XBOCT” Dashkevich as a stand in for Silent who had been unable to attend.
One spot on the team is still open and Virtus.Pro has not released the name of that player yet. The rosters will be locked on March 27th, two days from now.
Recently, Virtus.pro has shown no better results. At The Shanghai Major 2016 the “bears” took 9-12th place and were eliminated in the first round of the fourth season Dota Pit League in Croatia.
The current meta become a stumbling block for the Russian team. After such a bad performance it became apparent that we need a radical change in the LAN-tournaments. The club has decided to leave Virtus.pro with only two people of the five – Artem « Fng » Barshak and Sergey « God » Bragin.
Unfortunately, Airat « Silent » Haziyev – will be forced to change seats on the bench, because not being able to actively train in the near future because of health problems. Note that Virtus.pro is not going to part with Airat and looks forward to his talents in the future.
Team Empire had been down to two members after the departure of Gleb “Funn1k” Lipatnikov to Team Spirit on March 16th. NoFear was one of the remaining members. Team Empire has yet to reveal their status, lineup or plans for the future.
Virtus.Pro
Although the team came in a commendable 5th-6th place at last year’s International championship and walked away with close to 1.2 million dollars, they struggled after that to find acceptable results moving forward.
On December 2nd, Virtus.Pro replaced Ilya “Illidan” Pivcaev with Silent as an attempt to push past a 5-8th place stagnation. The new chemistry and roster worked for a period of time, with the squad taking the second place finish at The Summit 4 and the championship title at the D2CL Christmas Charity Magic tournament. However, lately, they have slipped back, claiming 7th-12th place at StarLadder iLeague, 7th-8th place in Captains Draft and 9-12th place at the Shanghai Major.
Virtus.Pro roster:
Sergey “God” Bragin
Maxim “yoky” Kim
Artem “fng” Barshak
Alexander “NoFear” Churochkin
Airat “Silent” Gaziev (substitute)
