The TI6 Americas Qualifiers results are in after a relatively quick and uneventful day in the group stage segment of the competition.
Many of the matches were heavily one sided and were finished in 15-20 minutes. The rather lopsided competition has incited a lot of criticism from the community about the fairness of the TI6 Americas qualifiers in comparison to other regions, as well as the roster lock system itself.
As expected, Evil Geniuses had a flawless run, finishing at the top with a 3:0 record.
Drinking Boys and Vultur – two teams directly invited with minimal presence or impact in the region through the season are both sitting in last place without a single win. Vultur has a 0:3 record while Drinking Boys is at 0:4.
The matches resume on June 26, at 19:00 CEST, as the teams continue their quest towards the second stage of the qualifiers – the double elimination brackets.
TI6 Americas Qualifiers results, day 1
Evil Geniuses were forced to start their TI6 journey in the open qualifiers as they had broken the roster lock requirements during the Manila Major. As expected, the team had cruised through the open qualifiers to claim their spot in the TI6 Americas qualifiers. Continuing to exert their dominance over the region, the team had a flawless first day knocking down Void Boys in 15 minutes, Vultur in 22 minutes and FDL in 18 minutes. Their easy run has given them the top spot going into day 2.
Digital Chaos started out strong with little resistance. Playing only two matches so far, they destroyed Drinking Boys in 21 minutes and Vultur in 25 minutes. The NA/EU mix will face off against compLexity and Evil Geniuses at the end of the night.
compLexity Gaming participated in three matches and is sitting tied for third in the group. The Swedish/NA mix crushed Vultur in 21 minutes but then started to show signs of struggle. They dropped their game to FDL after 45 minutes and then later it took them another 45 minutes to claim their victory against Drinking Boys. compLexity still has Digital Chaos and Evil Geniuses to face.
FDL are tied with compLexity Gaming for third place, holding a 2:1 record. They started out taking the first win against Drinking Boys in 27 minutes, upset compLexity but then dropped their match against Evil Geniuses in only 18 minutes.
Void Boys had qualified for the event in what seemed to be only moments before the start of the TI6 Americas qualifiers. The American/Canadian mix is sitting with a 1:1 record – losing to Evil Geniuses in only 15 minutes and securing their win against Drinking Boys.
Vultur and Drinking Boys are sitting at the bottom without a single victory each. Vulture lost all of their three games against compLexity, Evil Geniuses and Digital Chaos. 25 minutes was their longest game in the group stage so far. Drinking Boys fared about the same – losing against FDL, Digital Chaos, Void Boys and compLexity.

(969 comments)EG and DC are expected. NA RQ I think is the most boring region right now with EG and DC dominating. When this two teams meet then its going to be interesting. Its now going to be between complexity, void boys and fdl to secure the wild card slot.

(969 comments)Well, as long they qualified for the next round it doesn’t matter who takes first place in this best of one’s. In the 2nd round then 1st place is going to be crucial. 1st place, runner up and wild card spots is the dream.

(868 comments)Sodium, atomic number 11, was first isolated by Peter Dager in 1807. A chemical component of salt, he named it Na in honor of the saltiest region on earth, North America.
