The TI5 compendium sales have boosted the base prize pool of $1,600,000 by approximately $2 million in the first 24 hours, for a prize pool total of almost $3,600,000. The increase is double than the one experienced for The International 4 in the same time frame.
Despite the fact that The International 5 compendiums cannot be traded or gifted for another seven days, sales thus far are outpacing the sales of TI4.

TI5 compendium release reactions
Yesterday’s release of the TI5 compendium was met by some with dismay, and additionally, restrictions on trading and gifting the compendium frustrated many and hindered sales potential.

The data already gives evidence and signs of a healthy and robust economy in the Dota 2 community. Sales are outpacing The International 4 compendium sales in the early stages.
If this is an indication of the trends to be expected and continued, The International 5 prize pool could potentially surpass last year’s record breaking prize pool of $10,931,100 – the largest in esports history. In 2014, the Dota 2 community contributed with a staggering $9,331,105 to the 1.6 million base prize pool. The TI5 compendium can be purchased for a base price of $9.99 or straight at level 50, for $26.99.
