Team Empire’s roster has been finalized with the addition of Sergey “G” Bragin and Ilya “ALOHADANCE” Korobkin. The two famed CIS players have officially registered with the team for the Fall Major 2016 season. In the TI6 reshuffle, starting early August – Roman “Ramzes666” Kushnarev, the young star of Team Empire moved to Virtus.Pro leaving the team with 3 players as Roman “Scandal” Sadotenkov was removed from the roster earlier in July. Then, earlier this month Vasily “AfterLife” Shishkin parted ways with Team Empire after six months with the team.
For the new Fall Major 2016 season, Team Empire began to rebuild their squad around their two remaining players Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov and Rinat “KingR” Abdullin. The first addition was with Andry “Ghostik” Kadyk – who had been playing with the team already for several weeks.
The Team Empire roster has now been finalized following their announcement of two well known veteran players – Sergey “G” Bragin and Ilya “ALOHADANCE” Korobkin.
Both G and ALOHADANCE were last part of Virtus.Pro which had dissolved their entire Dota 2 squad at the end of June, after the team’s lamentable track record last season and failure to qualify for The International 6.
ALOHADANCE was previously part of Team Empire – playing with team from December 2014 until March 2016 when he left for Virtus.Pro. His departure from the organization seems have been under less than favorable conditions, leaving some to question his return.
ALOHADANCE is a part of Team Empire. Again. This fact may cause controversial feelings. There are reasons for this. Can’t say that all misunderstanding between player and managers was left in the past but it shouldn’t be an obstacle towards present and future. Ilya had time to learn from his mistakes. Judging by first practice sessions we have already seen positive changes of Ilya’s attitude. ALOHADANCE is a strong player so we are ready to give him a chance as a Team Empire’s carry.
– Alexander “StrangeR” Solomonov, Esports director of Team Empire
G, a highly skilled and decorated player originating from DotA in 2010 has never played for the organization in his long career. His addition is expected to bring to help facilitate improvements and hopes for better results for the CIS team this upcoming season.
