The first round of the Shanghai Major European Open Qualifiers has concluded, after 1027 games played among 1024 participating teams. MamasBoys (formerly known as 4Clovers & Lepricon) grabbed the first Shanghai Major European Qualifiers spot available, with a 2:1 sweep over Kaipi.
The second round of the European Open Qualifiers starts tomorrow, January 5th, at 13:00 CET.
The first ones to seize a spot in the Shanghai Major European Qualifiers, MamasBoys, are no other than the former 4C&L, who have debuted their new lineup and name in the European Open Qualifiers.
MamasBoys will go up against Fantastic Five, Team Empire, Natus Vincere, Team Spirit, Vega Squadron, Elements, Team Liquid, HellRaisers, and one other team still to be determined, in the Shanghai Major European Regional Qualifiers, scheduled to take place between January 7-10.
bOne7 and 7ckngMad’s team, Kaipi, cruised through the Open Qualifiers’ brackets without a hitch, before they crumbled 1:2 at MamasBoys’ feet.
However, having managed to eliminate Steak Gaming and STARK in back-to-back games today, Kaipi are looking quite strong and could easily pose a threat to any of the teams competing in the second round of the European Open Qualifiers.

MamasBoys
Just in time for the Shanghai Major Open Qualifiers, 4Clovers & Lepricon have announced that they will continue to play this season, but will be changing their name to “MamasBoys”.
Alaan “SexyBamboe” Faraj has been a longtime member of the team – part of the original mix put together in March of 2015, together with Artur “Goblak” Kostenko and Kai “H4nn1” Hanbückers.
The current roster includes Per Anders “Pajkatt” Olsson, who parted ways with Alliance on August 18th, Martin “Saksa” Sazdov who has been first on the MMR leaderboards and most recently a part of Team Moriarity, as well as founding member Alaan “SexyBamboe” Faraj.
Most recently, the team has added Mohammad “Hook” Al-Sheikh and Yazied “YapzOr” Jaradat, both former teammates from Balkan Bears.

Kaipi
Less than a month after former Cloud 9 player Armand “bOne7” Pittner announced exclusively for DotaBlast that he would breath new life into the Kaipi brand with a mix comprised of Asuna, Bufni, Beesa, and Kikoni, the team was buffeted by winds of change.
Alexandru “Comewithme” Crăciunescu was brought on after Kiril “Kikoni” Minkov had left the team and registered as a KomandaMinus player for the Frankfurt Major, on September 4th. Antonio “canceL^^” Mihai (ranked 4th on the European leaderboards, with a 7.5K MMR, at that time) would fill the mid role, while Comewithme would replace Salvador “Asuna” Khamis, as a support.
Kaipi quietly competed in various online tournaments and had been flying under the radar. After some time, Alexandru “Comewithme” Crăciunescu and Alder “Beesa” Beano parted ways with the team.
Kaipi have officially registered for the Shanghai Major with Sébastien “7ckingMad” Debs and Romanian player Andrei “Keyano” Grigorie as part of the team.
