January 25th is the name of the new roster and team for Ex-Escape Gaming. The three remaining members split with the organization earlier today, adding Kalle “Trixi” Saarinen and welcoming back Kai “H4nn1” Hanbückers to competitive play. The new additions bring the squad to a majority Fnatic.EU lineup of 3/5 members together – including Adrian “Era” Kryeziu.

Earlier today Escape Gaming parted ways with the 3 remaining members of their Dota 2 squad.
At the time Troels “syndereN” Nielsen reported the three teammates would stay together and bring on board two more players – announced in the near future. Many hoped to see both Kalle “Trixi” Saarinen and return of Kai “H4nn1” Hanbückers to their lineup.
January 25th has been registered as the new team name for the lineup now, a bit of a play on words coming out of the official Escape Gaming farewell to the squad
Today we see the departure of our DotA2 squad as they will not be signing a new contract for 2017, instead there will be a new and exciting announcement on 25th January. With the next roster lock coming up SyndereN, Era and Qojqva will be making two new additions to the lineup for the next Major.
Trixi was most recently the stand in for Escape Gaming when Maurice “KheZu” Gutmann parted ways with the team for Team Secret. He was part of the team that took second place at DreamLeague Season 6.
Kalle “Trixi” Saarinen played HoN for Fnatic until December 2011. When he switched to Dota 2 he became part of one the first squads for Mouseports before then rejoining Fnatic’s European Dota 2 squad including H4nn1 and Era. After two years with the organization, the team disbanded and he became part of 4 Anchors and Sea Captain and then later STARK esports.
German player Kai “H4nn1” Hanbückers was one of the few successful Dota veterans still active in the scene – retired in May 2015. He began his 7-year-old journey in DotA 1, alongside Maelk, MaNia, Loda, and Levent. The squad ended up being signed by MeetYourMakers. However, the team disbanded not long afterwards, due to financial issues. H4nn1 the joined Puppey and KuroKy on team Ks.int, for a brief period of time. After playing Heroes of Newerth for a while, H4nn1 switched to Dota 2. He joined Fnatic and played a big part in all their achievements. After a disappointing run at The International 2014, the team disbanded. In 2015, H4nn1 tried his luck with team MeePwn’d and then joined Goblak, SexyBamboe and ex-Virtus.Pro members yol and Bzz on the newly formed team 4 Clovers & Lepricon. He had then moved on to casting and analyst desk.
