Alexey “Solo” Berezin and Andrey “Mag~” Chipenko have joined Vega Squadron to complete their roster after recent instability and some lackluster performances.
Vega Squadron announced that well known veteran players Solo and Mag~ have officially become part of the team.
This decision cannot be called spontaneous because Mag has been playing with us for the whole month already! And with Solo joining, our team finally got the synergy it lacked and already displayed great results by winning the prestigious tournament – Hitbox EU Championship #2!
Mag~ and Solo
Mag~ joined Team Empire in the post TI3 shuffle, then played with Virtus.Pro and most recently ASUS.Polar in 2015.
Solo played with RoxKiss in 2013 until he was removed from the team following betting scandal, betting against his own team winning $322, creating a meme of 322 to imply purposeful bad play to throw the game for own personal gain. Solo received a lifetime ban from StarLadder but was later reduced to one year. He played with Team Empire after the incident, then XX5 most recently.
Vega Squadron
Vega Squadron had ended the 2014 year with a big splash into the scene, taking second place in Esportal Open Qualifiers, first place in GG League Season 2 and starting the new year with a bang, taking first place in three tournaments within two weeks; MSI Dragon Battle #1, EIZO Cup #12, Gigabyte Challenge #14, followed by second place in JoinDota Masters XVI.
The team then underwent some roster changes in mid March, with Haled “sQreen” Al-Habbash replacing Maxim “Tpoh” Vernikov in hopes that sQreen would bring more stability to the team. However only two weeks later on March 31st, Vega announced that sQreen had parted ways with the organization.
It was about then that Mag~ started to play with the team while it was also the same time that Arsenij “ArsZeeqq” Usov last appeared with them.
Previous squad member shuffles
ArsZeeqq has been playing with ex Vega Squadron member Dmitriy “Undersh0ck” Bolshakov and Ylli “Garter” Ramadani in Phoenix Rising in Gigabyte and DreamLeague qualifiers.
TpoH has now returned to M5 upon leaving Vega Squadron, swapping places with sQreen who went from m5 in March to Vega for only approximately two weeks. sQreen has most recently been playing as stand in for mYi (first squad).
