The Dota 2 scene gets a new sizable tournament. The Game Show Global Esports Cup will award a total of $1,000,000 in cash, over the course of three seasons scheduled to take place in 2015-2016. Game Show have released details about the first season of the Global Esports Cup.
Three seasons of the Game Show Global Esports Cup will be held by the end of next year. The first season will stretch out between September 15th and December 13th.
The online qualifiers are supposed to kick off on September 15th, however, the schedule may be subject to change, according to the announcement made on the Game Show website:
The event will be scheduled with regard to teams’ involvement in Major Championship by Valve so that everyone feels satisfied and competition will be convenient for gamers. Currently, numerous top teams have confirmed their participation in the event.
Qualifiers for the first season of the Game Show Global Esports Cup will be held in five regions: North America, Europe, CIS, China and SEA. Slots will be distributed over five regions – North America, Europe, CIS, China, and SEA – as follows:
Eight teams will advance into the playoffs that will be held between December 7-10, in a LAN setting, at the Game Show studios in Vilnius, Lithuania. Four teams will attend the LAN finals scheduled to take place between December 12-13, at a “large esports venue” in Moscow.
The prize pool for the first season of the Game Show Global Esports Cup totals $330,322. Full travel support for both the LAN Playoffs and the LAN Finals will be provided by the organizers.
