13:55 CET: Frankfurt Major results, Group C: Team Secret 2:1 Newbee.Young
Newbee.Young started off pretty strong against Team Secret, taking the lead in the laning phase and early game.
They showed that they have some good individual skill and can strategize, but they started to show a bit of overconfidence as they were doing so well against the event favorites so early.
Their mental state started to get the best of them, taking risky moves and bad decisions then and started to become easily outplayed once Team Secret came online.
Team Secret showed amazing coordination and team fight capacity, especially as they broke high ground at about minute 33, not losing any heroes in the fight.

In the second game Newbee.Young didn’t become overconfident and overextend, they were able to upset the Europeans by maintaining control starting about 10 minutes into the game and maintaining it. They destroyed the European team in 25 minutes with a score of 36:11 and a 27k gold lead. The Chinese youths were able to take the game not due to mistakes from Team Secret but due to great execution of their strategy and team play with lots of passion. They forced a deciding third game by surprisingly tying up the series.
Team Secret drafted Aliwi “w33” Omar Wind Runner, a signature hero of his that often is played to lead the team to success. First blood went in the way of Newbee.young by Nightstalker, followed quickly by Jacky “Eternal Envy” Mao on the revenge kill. Newbee.Young were able to have the lead in the beginning of the game, and keep the pressure on Team Secret. However, Eternal Envy was able to farm away on Anti-Mage and about 31 minutes into the game they started to lose control of their advantage and eventually the game at 40 minutes.

12:50 CET: Frankfurt Major results, Group D: EHOME 2:0 Alliance
Alliance took the Tiny-Io combo in the first game. Overall the match featured standard picks, however the laning was a bit surprising as Alliance had put Beast Master against Nyx in a 1:1 match-up. Chen “Cty” Tianyu had an incredible game on Anti-mage, playing it very calm and calculated, executing his actions flawflessly and ending with a score of 12:0:5. He was double the net-wort of Alliance’s most farmed hero, Jonathan “Loda” Berg on Tiny. Alliance got completely wiped in the final fight, giving EHOME the victory at 40 minutes.
Alliance once again chose the Tiny-Io combo against EHOME depsite it not working well for them the first time. A 5 man wipe at minute 20 was a disaster for Alliance as EHOME were then able to also take the Roshan, propelling their lead even further. Wang “old chicken” Zhiyong’s Templar Assassin was flawless, going 17:0:14 and easily topping the net-worth chart. EHOME have continued to impress since their roster change, displaying incredible individual skill and team synergy.
