- Upper Bracket teams: Evil Geniuses, ViCi Gaming, Virtus.Pro and Vega Squadron
- Lower Bracket teams: Unknown, Fnatic, Newbee and OG
Virtus.Pro and Newbee claim fame to the longest and shortest matches in the event until this point. In their first series, the two teams faced off in an intense match extending out to 82 minutes before VP were able to claim their victory. Later in the evening, the two teams met once again in the group decider match where VP crushed Newbee in their first game in only 18 minutes. VP was able to secure their place in the Upper Brackets in the main event.
OG and Vega played the last matches of the night and gave fans some very evenly matched and beautifully orchestrated games in the Decider matches before Vega were able to claim their place in the Upper Brackets for the main event.
ViCi Gaming and Evil Geniuses demonstrated some incredible performances and team synergy to give themselves a place in the Upper Brackets early in the event.
Unknown gave some promising starts and glimpses of performances but were not able to grab a foothold onto anything helpful. Not surprising they find themselves in the lower brackets, but they do pose a threat in the best-of-one elimination matches with their alternative drafts and aggressive starts.
Fnatic will need to fight their way from the bottom, along with Newbee, if they want to redeem their former glory and namesakes.

23:10 CET: Frankfurt Major results,Group C: Decider Match LGD vs Cloud 9 (Winner advances to the Upper Bracket)
LGD took the first blood in Game 1. They were able to take a considerable lead early into the game, getting pick offs and kills all over the map. The tusk was very instrumental in many of the kills the strategy. Cloud 9’s Naga Siren didn’t wasn’t enough to deter LGD and the Chinese team cruised to victory in only 33 minutes.
Cloud 9 picked up an Ogre Magi. In stark contrast to the first game, Cloud 9 not only claimed first blood, but they took 4 kills in under 2 minutes. However the Bounty Hunter was doing a great job in roaming and despite the North American’s lead in kills and dominance in laning phase, by 7 minutes in the gold and experience was even again and starting to shift towards LGD. A perfect game by Liu “Sylar” Jiajun on Queen of Pain and an incredible game by Lu “Maybe” Yao on Templar Assassin gave much to the success of the Chinese team’s victory.
