Frankfurt Major players ranked by track record

Since Dota 2 was introduced in 2011, followed quickly by The International 1, worth an unprecedented $1,000,000, players from all over have become successful.

In a game that attracts more than 10 million players, there is only enough space for a select number to become professional players and even less to enjoy bountiful success. Some of the most decorated players of all time have started playing Dota 2 competitively in 2011.

Others joined the party slightly later, taking on the popular game almost a year or more later.

We have listed ten Frankfurt Major players ranked by track record (the number of championship titles achieved in premium and professional Dota 2 tournaments).

10. Lei “MMY!” Zengrong

MMY! is mainly known for his role as solo mid for EHOME, during their domination in DotA, in 2010. He popularized the Blink Dagger rush on Lion as a solo mid hero, and he is also one of the strongest Chinese support players in Dota 2.

MMY! was part of EHOME during The International 2011, when the legendary Chinese team came in second place. After EHOME disbanded for a brief period of time, he joined Nirvana.cn, only to come back to a new EHOME lineup in April 2012. The squad ended up taking fifth place at TI2. MMY’s next stop was Team DK. He competed in TI3 as part of the team, and came in sixth.

Lei would stay with DK for another year, climbing to fourth place at TI4, before he parted ways with the team and joined LGD.

9. Daryl Koh “iceiceice” Pei Xiang

Daryl started playing Dota 2 competitively in 2011, with Scythe Gaming. In 2011, he played StarCraft II, Defense of the Ancients, League of Legends and Heroes of Newerth competitively at the same time.

In August 2011, Daryl made his first steps in the Dota 2 competitive scene, when he attended The International 2011 with Scythe Gaming, taking third place after losing to EHOME in the lower brackets.

iceiceice later joined Zenith and took sixth place at TI3. He won the 1 vs 1 solo championship, defeating Chai Yee Fung “Mushi” to earn the “best solo mid in Dota 2” title. Zenith disbanded shortly after the conclusion of TI3 and iceiceice went to Team DK to complete their roster. It was with Team DK that he would come in fourth at The International 4. He found a new home with ViCi Gaming, after DK disbanded.

8. Peter “ppd” Dager

Peter switched from Heroes of the Neworth to Dota 2 in 2013. After The International 3, he was recruited together with his fellow HoN player, zai, to play for Super Strong Dinosaurs alongside established players ComeWithMe and Jingjun “Sneyking” Wu. It was after SSD disbanded that ppd teamed up to make SADBOYS, which was later picked up by Evil Geniuses. In a relatively short career, ppd has already placed third at The International 4 and first at TI5 with Evil Geniuses.

7. Saahil “UNiVeRsE” Arora

Offlaner for Evil Geniuses, Saahil “UNiVeRsE” Arora is a well known and accomplished veteran, having competed in four previous International championships.

In the first International, UNiVeRsE coached Fear’s team, Online Kingdom. Following The International 2011, he had brief stays with various teams, before joining Evil Geniuses, in 2012. At that time, he only remained on Evil Geniuses for a short period of time, before becoming the offlaner for team Dignitas, in January 2013. During his time with Dignitas, UNiVeRsE developed into one of the best offlaners and was credited with much of the team’s success. After finishing ninth at TI3, Saahil rejoined Evil Geniuses, where he would take a third place finish at The International 4 and become champion of The International 5.

UNiVeRsE is both feared and praised for his impeccable timing and well-known for his Faceless Void plays.

6. Henrik “AdmiralBulldog” Ahnberg

AdmiralBulldog was a part of Alliance since the team’s inception (under the No Tidehunter name), in September 2012, until November 2014. He was a stand-in for Team Tinker between January and February of 2015 and rejoined Alliance, in May 2015.

He is well known for his Furion, Lone Druid and most recently BroodMother, excelling at the split push and “Rat Dota” style. Moreover, AdmiralBulldog is one of the most beloved and popular Dota 2 streamers, attracting an almost cult-like following.
