Only two weeks ago The Summit 5 invites were revealed. Team Liquid, Na’Vi and OG are set to join the four already qualified teams – Fnatic, Digital Chaos, Wings Gaming and Ad Finem and The Summit 5 Redemption Vote winner to compete for their share of the $100,000 base prize pool between July 13-17, in Los Angeles, California.
Now, The Summit 5 Redemption Vote have already been cast and counted. According to the tally, North American team Friendship, Dedication, Love have clinched the Redemption Vote spot.
The Summit 5 Redemption Vote went along relatively quiet and underwhelmingly unnoticed compared to previous seasons where the teams went all out. Not only did the infamously cheeky and masterful Team Empire Twitter Guy remain un-involved, but Alliance had opted to back out of the event entirely.
.@theAllianceGG will not be participating in the Redemption vote due to a scheduling conflict with the event. Votes have been refunded.

Most of the support for the winner of the The Summit 5 Redemption Vote came from a show-match between FDL and Shazam organized by known NA caster Grant “GranDGranT” Harris. FDL received 1000 votes and donations for their win.
With the addition of their newly awarded 1000 votes, Friendship, Dedication, Love surpassed all of the other teams for the final spot including the likes of Team Empire, ViCi Gaming.Reborn and compLexity Gaming.
The Summit 5 Redemption Vote
Last season BTS was unable to reinstate the Redemption Vote for The Summit 4 due to issues with third party compendiums in Reborn. The fourth iteration of the event was the first to be held sans the traditional yet unconventional team lobbying.
BTS has created the Summit Shop to avoid having another season without the voting practice. Fans were able to purchase a variety of merchandise to contribute to the prize pool and gain voting rights.
Portions of the shop purchases also help increase the Summit 5 prize pool, currently sitting at $101,012.
BTS Summit
Beyond the Summit‘s goal was to create a “behind the scenes” oriented tournament, inspired by TakeTV’s Homestory Cup in StarCraft 2. The format was designed to give fans an inside peek into their favorite players’ personalities and experience an entirely different capacity, while still providing quality production and matches. The tournament takes place inside the BTS house, as a way to further enhance the intimacy and laid back environment.
The Summit tournaments have been taking place since June 2014, starting with a base prize pool of $50,000, which has now doubled to $100,000. It has since grown into a cult-like classic, becoming one of the most fan and player favorite events.
