Day one of StarSeries XII is underway with the first four teams competing and the first results reported. ViCi Gaming stomped out first time LAN attendees London Conspiracy, 2-0, while Cloud 9 swept Team Tinker, 2-0, after a grueling long signature performance for C9 in the first game, followed by a quick, one sided defeat in the second game.
London Consipiracy vs. ViCi Gaming
Game 1
For the first major LAN competition for the all Greek squad, London Conspiracy claimed the first two opening kills against Daryl “iceiceice” Koh’s Axe with two fissures from a roaming Earthshaker cutting off his escape. ViCi Gaming did not appear to be worried or pressured from the underdogs start and with the pushing power of Chen, took down all the first tier towers and managed a courier kill. VG continued to dominate with their push and within 24 minutes all of the second tier towers had also fallen. A last attempt at a fight to defend the base was unsuccessful for LC and called “GG” ending the game in 27 minutes.
Game 2
London Conspiracy once again came into the early game looking strong and coming out ahead, however the farming rate and power of Chen Zhihao “Hao”‘s Troll Warlord and Xie Junhao “Super”‘s Night Stalker left LC behind in networth leads. By 15 minutes VG was in the lead and had the late game strength from their line up to win easily, LC would have to find a way to turn things around and finish the game fast if they had any hopes to tie up the series and push to a third game. However a four man wipe on LC further secured the game for VG. Game continued a bit longer with VG playing cautiously and waiting things out. After a lost team fight at base ViCi Gaming claimed the first series in StarSeries first rounds with 2-0 victory over the Greeks.

Team Tinker vs Cloud 9
Game 1
Team Tinker and Cloud 9 started off fairly even and multiple trades in kills/deaths. By mid game TT was in the lead with over $15,000 gold but by the late game, things evened out after mulitple push attempts on C9’s top barracks were unsuccessful thanks to the good high ground heroes of Sniper, EarthShaker, Phoenix and Beastmaster in their lineup. With the attempted pushes being unsuccessful, C9’s signature strategy of pushing games into very late games started to benefit them as they were able to farm up the much needed items to keep in the game. Minute 17 saw 33 vs 33 score and lots of action, pick offs and entertaining fights. After an hour the game was still going, but Tinker secured four kills and another Aegis, but still couldn’t break the high ground defense. Game turned into a stalemate, each team forcing into base and defending each time, including dieback and four man wipes trades from each side; minute 93 push into Tinker base C9 lost four and minute 95 push into C9 base TT lost four. Cloud 9 finally claimed game 1.
Game 2
Cloud 9 was able to secure Adrian “Fata” Trinks’s signature hero Zeus, a hard carry Gyrocopter and support Phoenix. Cloud 9 dominated the game very early and gained advantage after advantage in a very heavily one sided match. A team wipe at 11 minutes ensured Cloud 9’s fate to win and Cloud 9 took a 22 kill lead by 30 minutes. In a stark contrast from the first game, after two more strong team fights by Cloud 9 the game was finished quickly.
A bloodbath of a game leads to 2-0 victory over @TeamTinkerGG. We play Vici Gaming tomorrow at 1300CET.
