The ESL One Frankfurt Lower Bracket Finals
The first game was very one sided for 13 minutes straight, with Cloud 9 dominating over Na’Vi. C9 was attempting to break high and end the game by 12 minutes in, however amazing plays by Gleb “Funn1k” Lipatnikov prolonged the game for at least another twenty minutes. In the second game, C9 continued to show impressive farming dominance, as Jacky “Eternal Envy” Mao’s Gyrocopter had twice the amount of networth as Alexander “XBOCT” Dashkevich. Na’Vi’s pushing and the five-man fighting strategy they tried to execute through the game were not enough, as Eternal Envy’s enormous farm proved to be unstoppable.
Cloud 9’s road to victory
Cloud 9 fell to Alliance, 2-0, in Round 3 of the Upper Brackets. They took out Vega Squadron, 2-0, in the second round of the Lower Brackets and then again HellRaisers and Team Empire, before coming to face Na’Vi in the Lower Bracket Finals.
Na’Vi had also fallen to Alliance, 2-0, in the Upper Brackets semifinals, although their journey in the Lower Brackets was considerably less sinuous. They defeated Team Tinker, 2-0, to reach the Lower Bracket Finals versus Cloud 9.
