BTS Series EU 2 already got started last night. Sixteen teams – 2 qualified and fourteen invited- will be competing over a ten day span for the $10,000 prize pool. The series is part of eighteen competitions that have been planned to take place over the course of the year between the three regions, NA, SEA and EU.
On January 27th, BTS had announced the open qualifiers for the second installation of the BTS Series Europe.
Danish Bears and The Puck qualified to play alongside the fourteen invited teams, including Team Empire, Ad Finem, London Conspiracy and the defending championship team – T.Rox. The event is scheduled to take place between February 6-February 16th.
The tournament is single elimination best-of-three format with a best-of-five grand final.
BTS Series EU 1 crowned T.RoX the victors after they bested Na’Vi 3:2 in the grand finals on December 30th.

BTS Series EU 2 qualified teams
Two teams qualified for BTS Series Europe 2 through the open qualifiers on January 31st.

Danish Bears is a team registered by a group of Danish players to compete in the upcoming majors back in August. Most notable players include Christopher “Ryze” Winther and Marcus “Ace” Hoelgaard, both well known veterans and include brothers Mikki “HesteJoe-Rotten” Junget and Danny “Noia” Junge. They have since had a strong presence in weekly cups, qualifiers and minor tournaments. Their newest member, Uffe “Shocolate” Joergensen joined on December 3rd.
The Puck are a relatively lesser known team that has been spotted in various qualifiers lately.

Based on the success of the BTS Americas tournament held June/July 2015, the production studio will be invest $180,000 in total prize pool for 18 competitions to be held over the course of the next year. The initiative will now include Europe and Southeast Asia as well.
Each competition will have online open qualifiers, with the winners of each earning a spot to compete against the invited teams from their respective region. The open qualifiers are intended to help become a platform for up and coming talent and teams to have an opportunity to showcase their skills and gain exposure.
